I got a pair of those Craghoppers for Christmas because walking the dog wearing jeans my legs froze. Can't recommend them enough. They are also cheaper than most legwear.

Fingerless gloves. 10min to get the blood flowing then spend the next hour concentrating on warming up my feet. I failed.

I just about kept my fingers from getting cold by 'exercising' them at every traffic light - still got to work with numb tips though!

I saw only two other riders on my way in this morning at 6 a.m., seemed a little slippery on the back streets. I was thankful for the softshell trousers that turned up in the post yesterday.

Just dont wear jeans.
apart from mine with flannel lining which are amazingly warm.

Just dont wear jeans. Theyre crap at keeping you warm. Absolutly the worst thing to wear in the cold. People always overlook the legs. Walking around in massive puffer jackets, and jeans. Lined hiking trousers work really well for a range of temps and activities. My TKMaxx Craghopper bargins have been making my leg very content this winter.

Howies warm 49ers.
Jeans with a flannel lining. Super toasty.
Not for riding in, today I wore ski socks, biblongs, shorts, tee, thin jumper and standard adidas running jacket that I wear all year.
Also hat and thick gloves.
And helmet.
With hood under the lid.
And a buff.
Over the face. -

The mist out here has frozen all over the trees and turned them white. Lovely.

Light snow all day tomorrow apparently... i guess riding in central london should be ok as they'll have gritted?
-

3/4 shorts, t-shirt, Rapha wind jacket, leather gloves, snood, cap, sorted.

they really went to town with the grit this morning around straford inch deep in places
more prepared than last year but it'll still all grind to a halt -

Yeah, riding in the snow is usually fine. If it's only a thin layer you might encounter ice lurking just underneath, which can be annoying.
When it starts to melt and turns to dirty, icy slush it's horrible though.

some of the best riding i have done is epping forest with a few inches of snow compacted then fresh snow on top
so silent and peaceful just that scrunch as your tyres run over the fresh snow

And stick to main road would be the best course of action.

The panic does.
Like white noise.
Those are pretty thin. But the inclusion of a liner makes them 100 times more windproof then jeans. Its a far more comfortable solution than longjohns, and it works over a wider range of temps.
Thing is. Where is the blood going after travelling down your freezing legs?
