It's really not fun any more...

    Cue the Hovis theme...

"eye lad, we walkd 15 mile, uphill, no shoes... Cardboard box, was all mine though..."

  • Everyone is saying oo rubbish weather this time of year means It'll be a good summer. Don't they say that every year and summer is still pants.

  • Gusting winds and headwinds are great; unless you're bike handling is shit. Who wants to ride in exacto conditions all the time? If you do, fuck off somewhere else.

    Shit joke.

  • It's April you fucking moaning minnies, a transition month between winter and spring where frequent showers and variance in temperatures are the norm.

  • Cycle with an umbrella.

    Job done.

Saw a fellow this morning with an umbrella strapped to the top tube of his Colnago. He was walking along with the bike, the umbrella was furled, it was raining.

Been lovely up here. Well cold, but dry and sunny.

I was even working outside 'bare-topped' on Saturday. I went in to prep the road bike for an early evening spin, glanced out the window, and it was snowing. Fecking went from 11C and super sunny, to 1C and snowing, in the time it took me to pull my down from the workroom wall.

I can ride immaculately slowly whenever there's a headwind, if that's what you mean. Unless I'm following Sasmon, or Alby that is.

Fancy doing the 12 soon? I know the route looks like a google doodle but trust me, it's genius.

  • April, April, der weiß nicht, was er will ...

  • @Jung - yeah, soon would be good. I'd prefer a route with a decent amount of climbing, but it'd be nice to do a ride with you anyway.

  • You mean Mr Spock, AICMFP.

    Yeah, that.

  • No-one comes here for the weather...

    Got that right.

  • What do they come here for?

    Wide open spaces?

  • Spacious, and cheap, housing.

  • the good food
    and the pleasant company

  • Grim looking morning in London
