It was -12 in Glasgow today. Roads and pavements are icy as fuck. Nothing is getting delivered-including pizza. Haven't been on my bike in over a week...

Shit that's cold. I read about one of the motorways in Scotland being closed for over 40 hours now, a major road being closed for almost 2 days is crazy. Do you have any snow pictures of where you live?

There was a photo on BBC News channel yesterday of a car thermometer in Scotland showing -19.

twas -13 here yesterday morning, most of our snow went over the weekend, but on every bike lane there's a tonne of ice. The beater is lapping it up, and i'm hoping for more snow.
cycling in, I forgot my gloves, and even though it was a ten min cycle, by the end, my hands were bright red, felt like they were burning, completely useless at doing anything, and i had to warm them for 5 mins before I could lock my bike up.
my face felt like all the moisture had been leeched from it, and despite wearing 4 layers on the top and long johns, my arse and balls felt like someone had kicked them, and I was shivering.
IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!
today its a veritable heatwave: -4

We've had sooooo much snow since yesterday evening. Driving is shite, but cycling is great.
The hell that is studded tyres on tarmac, becomes heaven with a bit of compressed snow cover. So smooth, and so gripy.

i hate you smallfurry.
you live in my dreamworld.
you lucky bastard.-i'd probably langlauf, or skin my way in though, skinning, just in case your commute takes you past a mountain that you could be distracted by.

Sounds awesome! I had gloves on but my hands were still red raw underneath.

Also, drivers seem to be more cautious of cyclists in this weather, they didn't seem to mind at all that I was riding in the middle of the road on the way to work. I did leave the house early though.

You need to get your winter coat back on, Richie.

it's been -22 up near Inverness - lowest recorded temp ever in Britain was in Braemar -27.2 - that's only an hour away from me. More snow last night. Ironically although the mountain conditions will be awesome, you just can't get to most of them - the snow gates are closed in loads of places

First frost-free morning in London for a while. Very nasty road crud out there. If you have mudguards, use them

^ what he said. It's like crude oil and probably as toxic.
Pop home and fix it.
Lets face it, you cant be any further from home than the first corner.
