  • its something that needs to be nipped in the bud

  • i hate it when people say "nipped in the bud".....it sounds so........gay

  • Strange, just makes me think of breasts.

  • velocity boy, you're male.. everything makes you think of breasts. ;)

  • Scrapper: Are you in Greenford? Do you have a shopfront?

  • yes in greenford, but no shopfront strictly mailorder only at the moment unfortunately.

  • Doh! I'm just down the road. Any plans for a pick-up service? :)

  • Thats one of the many changes I'm trying to make.

  • I'm dissappointed that none of those BB comments were from me. I feel I'm letting down my Essex heritage.

  • bikepimp.co.uk is good for getting the cheapest prices on the www.

I thought velocity boy wasn't allowing ads...?

    But for discount? :)

Where in Essex exactly? Just wondering as I also spent my yoot being harrassed at bus stops by groups of Sharons and Traceys in white stilettoes (possibly an earlier era to yourself).

  • lucky you, I spent my yoot being harassed by the police

  • Give me the police any day. I've spent the night in the company of both, and got more battered by the girls.

  • Beware Bonthrone. For me they are by far the worst I've used (and I've used most, it seems). No indication of stock; silly postage charges; take your money straight away but can take weeks to send anything; don't answer the phone; don't reply to emails; order tracking meaningless, etc, etc. Bonthrone have gone into and out of liquidation a few times and commanded an encouraging 1.2 out of 10 on one of the review sites.

CRC, Wiggle and Hargroves have all been faultless for me.

  • +1 on Bonthrone avoidance.
I used to do work for them (product catalogues etc) and they were a frickin' nightmare.
Certainly would put me off getting anything through them.

  • Love Hubjub,

Answers questions and is totally helpful.
Otherwise, wiggle, chainreaction and parker are good.

  • yeah, hubjub is great.

shall we do a ride to essex then gents?

  • Hmmm...

  • I'm a big fan of Cyclebasket. I've used them loads for tektro brake parts, but they also have some good prices on rims, hubs, and VERY cheap SSDB spokes. Delivery is £6 a time though. Rubbish website too :/

Otherwise, I use wiggle and CRC and occasionally Ribble (only fair seeing as I ride one :D)

  • What sort of Ribble?

  • Hubjub is great.

  • Where there's a Will...

  • What sort of Ribble?

Alu audax with mirage groupset and some carbony bits
