Perennially poor, and 2 years away from a job in the NHS - so no change imminent :-(
Definitely a creative type, but allergic to wealth. Need some antiskintamines...

I know they get a lot of stick, but some designers are actually quite into "design", and not just what is cool. The design aspects of a fixed gear bike are very appealing to someone who naturally finds the clumsiness of pushing a chain between sprockets off putting and only uses three gears at most. Not to mention the feel of being in full control of your back wheel.
I'm a designer by the way. My bike collection is at three and a half at the moment. The half is a stalled build waiting for more funds, which will probably be provided by selling one of the others! They're all cheap cobbled together machines, except for the new one.
Is being a paramedic anything like that Scorsese film with Nicholas Cage?

I'm a Software Architect for a multi-national company. Used to be in the music business, but jumped ship when the going was bad and Belle & Sebastian were being shitty and Snow Patrol were just a drain on the money. Went into programming and suddenly started earning a decent living, so haven't really looked back. It's almost a decade later now and I'm at the top of my game so the money is pretty good. If only I didn't have this damned marriage to pay off.

I finished my studying days in August, and been working since Jan as a (trainee) IT consultant..
not the most creative job - but it took me 5 months to find ANY careery kinda job - I dream of being a carpenter, or perhaps something in a suede crepe-soled desert boot...@ eeehhhh - IMO the best IC halls were Sussex (Evelyn?) gardens.. seriously - choose to live in the pimpest area of Chelsea while you can as a broke-arse student!

Photographer, notch another one to the creative types. What ffub was saying about fixed being pleasing to the eye makes a lot of sense. Wouldn't be surprised if there are a few dyslexics here (me included) cause their brain works visually.

I am emplyed by bike forum owners and moderators around the world to insert inane comments, start arguments, provide occasional humour, random snippets of randomness and a dash of knowledge to other forum readers. They could've got an automated computer program to do the same thing but I'm cheaper.

mashton I'm a geek. Or, more specifically, I am an Integration Analyst that has a final interview today to become a Lead Enterprise Architect.
More generally, I work for a major music company.
Sorry but what on earth is an "Integration Analyst" and a "Lead Enterprise Architect".

Maybe you ARE an automated computer program with delusions of human identity...
... do you have to press alt+ctrl+del everytime you crash your bike?

I am responsible for the network, users, website and archiving for an international exhibition.
I have worked in IT, cycle retail and as a Courier for two of Londons top firms.
I have a fixed wheel road bike that I ride everyday and a SS/MTB that never gets ridden. -

What's the story behind that one?
Or is it just a pretty pattern.

Actually It is from my childhood obsession with GIJOE comics.
All of the Arashikage Clan had it tattooed on their forearms, I want one too. -
