  • so far as I'm aware, you need a license to sell alcohol in the UK.

  • You might need a licence ;-0

  • yes you do need a "license" but you said "inside licensed premises"......which is the bit that isn't true.
there are new licensing laws, but even so getting an "occasional license" for fetes, country shows, beer festivals, charity events etc was always possible.
I hold a "personal license" which makes it easier for me to secure licensing for events in normally unlicensed premises...but there are some restrictions obviously!
It's what I do for a living.....if someone is seriously thinking of organising a charity event then feel free to mail me or have a chat next Saturday.

  • a roller race would be cool, especially for charity as long as the beer isn't overpriced rapha ale served warm.

  • winston, this is a serious charity event and i will be at the tour d'arsenal on saturday to talk to you about it

  • BringMeMyFix You might need a licence ;-0

you wanna be a spellchecker? I suggest looking for another forum

  • do you guys mind starting a new discussion for your arguments, your putting a downer on the charity event:)

  • Can we have rollers, beer, and a bike-themed spelling bee?

  • only if im invited

  • beetle drive at my place

  • MrSmith a roller race would be cool, especially for charity as long as the beer isn't overpriced rapha ale served warm.

As if Rapha peeps would drink common 'ale'.. they'd crystal-decant an oak-aged, distilled, female panda gland-excretion.. or perhaps white wine.

  • im thinking of a pub in brixton for the location.its called the hob goblin....anyone know of it?i have the owners number i could give her a call.
for people who are not aware of the hob,its quite big,it has a projector area which is seperate to the bar and has a big outside area which would be nice if the weather is good....http://fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1437.html

its not a bad location, not in central but hey! brixton has a tube station so no worries for non-cyclists.....mybe i could talk to brixton cycles about some imput....how or what i dont know!:)

    what do you peps think???

  • know it very well.

Brixton was my hood for 9 odd years.

do it. and the BC thing

  • cool, will do.not long ago i was going to do a photography project in that place,i spoke to jane the landlady, she was really nice im sure she will be up for it.
if i hold the event there its bound to bring in alot of punters who will buy lots of beer!! everyone is happy:)

  • I think it will.
don't forget the velodrome is just up the road, maybe advertise with the VCL too?

  • ummm il add them to my list..any bike based company would do a good thing supporting this event, not only will it advertise there stuff it will also make them look good:)

  • Edwardes are just up the road too. They sponsor the Velodrome, so they might be keen.

  • TheBrick(Tommy) I am going to run a book on that one, fixedwheel nut on his Ron Copper kick everyones asses!

    LMAO :)

As it happens I've just entered the Mersey Roads 24hour TT, see me suffer .

I'd be up for some roller racing, if you get a venue and date sorted I'll post it up on ACF and C+ aswell

  • thanks steve,im working on it,im going to need all the support i can get:)

  • Anyone fancy running up 42 floors, and paying for the priviledge?

Its for a good cause, but its about stair-climbing, not cycling..........

    http://england.shelter.org.uk/what_you_can_do/events_and_challenges/vertical_rush

  • I didn't want to start a whole new thread. But its definitely not a cycle race.

  • Are you running fixed or geared?

  • Me? Run up 42 floors? I couldn't last 42 stairs!

Its for chareedee, and I'll get my dollar bills out for at least one person off this forum, thats brave enough top do it.
