There's a Carloton Road bike locked up on my way home from work with the back wheel stoved in. I'm hoping it will soon be abandoned. If the lock goes and the bike is left behind that's good to go right?

hello ive got my specialized frame for sale in good condition and very light wight
and i fink it will be a good project for someone the reason im selling is because some theives striped my bike while i was at work and all i got left with is the frame

Been tempted to go liberate this myself, its been there for weeks. Always makes me wonder, why go to the effort of stripping the whole thing (which requires some fairly specific tools and time) rather than cut a lock. Thieves baffle me sometimes.

Has it def never moved? - seems like a strange bike to abandon.

Mine.....under cover of darkness..!!

Nope, hasn't moved as far as I'm aware for months. Very rusty chain + wheels nuts, but otherwise in damn good nick. It's locked with a yellow krypto (not a Fag)

Haha I see that every morning! The chain is fucked.

I have seen that before - always assumed it was just parked there for the day - its outside a sex shop isnt it?
-
• #214
Something like that. I think it's been there for over a year but I may be wrong. I remember it "always being there".

Problem officer?

put chalk on one of the tyres. If the chalk is still in the same place after a few days, its abandoned.
-
• #218
That's just clever
-
• #219
So if I lock my bike somewhere and leave it for a few days I've abandoned it?!
If we're talking weeks or months that's one thing.

They've locked up both wheels and the frame with decent locks. I doubt that's abandoned. I work in a pub on the corner of New Kings Rd and Fulham High Street so go past this junction most nights at about 1am. Personally, I've never noticed it there. I thnk it's just a daytime thing.

That's the thing. Is it there at any given time or all the observations were made during the morning commute? Perhaps the owner doesn't wake up before midday?
