I'd reboot the Garmin and see if I can get it to record distance first.
Yeah. It does strike me that it’s most likely my old watch just playing up rather than some fuckery between the two devices. Cheers.

Unlikely
I'd be more likely to blame some kind of sync clash between the two (if you had your accounts linked)
I've happily recorded GPS tracks and power data on multiple units.

In a similar vein, does anyone have a garmin going spare/for sale? Or even a decent phone app to follow a GPX route from? I’ve been using Strava with my phone mounted to the bars but it’s a bit buggy/shit, and I find having a big phone in front of me annoying.

I use RWGPS and/or OSMAnd+ on Android

I've found that my Garmin watch rash is mostly down to cleanliness.
I wear my Forerunner 945 pretty much 24/7 and the rash is mostly resolved by cleaning the back of the watch and the strap whenever I take it off for a bath/shower. If I forget to do this the rash slowly comes back.

And lo, #goochwatch became a thing.

Maybe I should put Garmin straps over the ends of the Adamo split nose? It might act like same-pole magnets...

Bit of a dredge - did you replace the battery in the end/use SatNav Specialist? Sorry if I've missed an update. I'm considering replacing the battery on an 820.

I didn't, no! I'm still holding out hope for a software update that will stop my Wahoo being a useless brick. I didn't want to break/ spend money on the Garmin in the mean time. The process doesn't seem too complicated, I'm just quite cack handed.
From a quick Google, the 520+ and the 820 seem to take the same battery. I'm happy to chuck the replacement battery kit in the post if you fancy giving it a go? (I'm guessing from the LSF avatar that you're in Leeds). -

the 1030 Plus is the best unit they've made
Happy with mine too. Better than the eTrex Touch 35, which is admittedly not playing in the same league. I don't think it's misbehaved once yet

I do have a feeling there's some sort of residue from manufacturing (maybe some kind of release agent) that eventually wears off.
Plastics may also degrade.
I recently started getting a rash under my Garmin 620 watch and swapped to the other wrist for a bit of relief. The irritation started on the other wrist after a few days.I bought it in Dec 2013, so wasn't too sad.
Fitbit Versa 4 replacement hasn't caused any issues. -

Fitbit Charge 5 (belongs to my Mrs) has been bricked by a software update. Along with many others reported on the help pages.
Tried all the restarting procedures, changed the clock face etc which has worked for some.
Went through it all again with the support chat and no change. Fortunately its only a few months old and he offered a warranty replacement. If you have one and the screen goes black/unresponsive, don't unpair it to try resolving! You won't be able to see the 4 digit code to pair.

Is there a way to extract segments of rides already ridden and insert them in segments you are creating?

Garmin Fenix 6 pro solar is completely refusing to pair with my Pixel 7, having previously worked happily for months. I've tried most of the easy fixes like turn off and on both devices, deleting blue tooth settings on the phone, factory reset the watch and nothing seems to help. Even reinstalled the Garmin Connect app and repaired my edge 530 no issues, so probably it's an issue with the watch ?
Anyone having similar problems, or got experience with Garmin warranty ? Cheers.

Garmin warranty are normally pretty good. If they can't fix the issue (I think they normally use local authorised service centres) then they'll replace it. Even if it's out of warranty they'll sell you a re-conditioned same version for a reasonable fee.

Ride turbo on trainer with GPS on, get file full of erroneous GPS data.
Is there a quick way to remove this location data and nothing else? Most options I've seen will strip other data but leave location (which obviously makes sense but I'm fucking weird ok).

I’m after a pretty basic cycle computer for a tour I’m about to go on. I’d like to see mileage, speed, elevation along side the route.
Any recommendations or anyone got an old one they’d like to sell?
Thanks -

My Garmin Edge 520 has finally given up on life (well, battery lasts around an hour). What's the best alternative these days? No need for maps, just your basic info and power & bluetooth connections.

Is anyone that ordered the beeline velo 2 using it and cares to provide a summary review?
I’ve been using this for about a month, so far so good, it’s very simple to use and gives me turn by turn, I’ve discovered some nice new routes too.
I’m going down to Dungeness tomorrow for a look around so it will be interesting to see how it fares on a longer ride .
