  • Some out front mounts can have that go pro style attachment underneath which can work with some lights with the right adapter if that’s an option for you

  • I put a home made bridge between my extensions and put a basic Wahoo out front mount on that. Worked perfectly for TAW and as people have said, the further forward the better. I could have used a standard rubber band mount but this gave me more room for food etc.

You could probably combine it with a light mounted underneath.

  • That's what I do on all my bikes, but then all my bikes have aerobars. This is on a tourer without aerobars (I think).

I've also used one of those Space Saver mounts to get extra "bar space"...

I can't find the one I use but this kind of thing..

  • Ah, I read risers as aerobars.

  • When I've got bags/lights/food obstructing the normal position of my garmin I spin the mount 180 degrees so it's on the nearside of the bars. It's not perfect - my knees sometimes hit it, but it works.

  • Anyone using mapping on a watch for cycling navigation? I wonder how practical this would be in reality, maybe with it strapped to the bars.

  • I'll make a proper sale post this evening but is there any interest in a Garmin 1030, with case and mount? All working fine and with the latest software update. Probably looking for £300 given they are £399 in the sales at the moment and they seem to go for £300-320 secondhand.

  • Karoo for $199, fill your boots.

  • Clearing out stock before they go under?

  • Nae idea, hope not!

  • No idea either, but the same thought crossed my mind. If they do go under then it's a total paperweight given the need to use their backend to upload routes and download activites.

  • Not cycling related, but how would one go about verify altitude of a given co-ordinate to a fairly high level of accuracy without expensive surveying equipment?

  • How accurate? Google Earth shows altitude for the point under the cursor.

  • A bit more than that I'd guess, +/-0.5m at least

  • Any batshit Wahoo bolt updates I’ve missed?

Wahoo won’t sync to phone won’t recognise QR code to pair again

    FML

  • Does anyone have a garmin mount by any chance, that I can buy?

  • Yeah, Barfly you can have for a fiver.

  • Download government lidar data (levels taken with a laser from a plane). So long as it's not under tree cover etc then it'll be better than + or - 10cm generally.

You'll need qgis (free) or similar to view the data.

  • I got one you can have for free.

  • Cheers, I had a look at the Lidar stuff, it seemed to say it was only accurate to 0.5m from memory, but I'm sure maybe it's better than that in reality. Went with a surveyor in the end to guarantee legal water-tightness.

  • Anyone got a Fenix 6 pro? Tempted. Any good? How is the bluetooth music?

  • Has anyone with a Wahoo got a workaround for there not being a timer alert, like there is on a Garmin?
I just want it to beep and remind me to eat something at a set interval

  • Can I somehow use the optical HRM from a Garmin running watch to sync with my bike Garmin?

  • I've not tried it as I have a basic Edge 200 on the bike but my forerunner 35 has the option to broadcast HR to other ANT+ devices. What are you using?
