Big head (physically), looks like a bit like Eddie Merx, talks alot....that's him. Currently running an event in France as I type.
Not to be confused with that other bloke, very small head, looks hungry, lets his legs do the talking. :)

When was the last time any of those little towns produced a cycling World Champion?
Isle of Man leg next time?
Pretty Please.

Have they stocked back up on big roll or are people still wiping their arses with their cats?

Jimbilly would be happy with an Isle of Man round, it would give him an excuse to visit. I mentioned the Isle of Wight again the other day & he was like "Oh, we can meet up with andy.w too".....wrong island. Again. haha.

Cider, from devon cured my own retardedness.

It only added to my retarded youth, the farmer that made and sold us ours was virtually blind. We hoped it was his brew that turned him into the man he was.

• #2488
You remeber youth?
-
• #2489
No, I was making that all up...I am immortal like 'The Man From Earth'.

• #2490
Do immortals get chronic back injuries?
-
• #2491
Where are you at with your back, Caspar? Full recovery imminent, or likely?
-
• #2492
Should be going to the Brum leg of this...

Ride hard. Ride relaxed. Thats the key. Tension in the upper body restricts max cadence. Instead of trying to build strength and power at this point (the nationals start in a matter of weeks), I'd say try and work on leg speed.
Just did some laps at Regent's park, and at the descents (although not huge), I tried to keep accelerating, with a completely relaxed upper body. It was eye-opening!

BMMF, rehab is slow & it is difficult not to push hard, but I can walk again which is ace! I'm not sure about riding, I'll have to play it by ear. I am using a gym bike for rehab, but it is at 0 resistance and for 7mins max....purely mobility purposes at the moment.
Thanks for asking.

Best of luck with it. I know how difficult it is to take things slowly. Even taking into account the fact you can slightly challenge the assertions of overly conservative health professionals, you've still got to be very careful and honest about what your body's telling you. You'll get there before too long, I'm sure :)

I didn't know that you'd got such a bad back injury, Caspar--get better soon!
-
• #2497
Thanks Oliver, I'll be better before you know it, mainly because even though we share an office I still only see you once a season.
-
• #2498
Rapsac's back was in even worse shape than mine is, Oliver...
He doesn't moan as much as I do tho'...
-
• #2499
