  • Save Don Jon on Fri, really liked it and a film with 2 sides for a change!

  • It's on my list for this week although probably wont get around to it until Sunday.

  • Gravity. Completely unrealistic. No woman tied to George Clooney would let him untie the rope.

  • there was a gaping fucking great hole in the plot which essentially renders the latter part of the film moot. shan't go into too much detail but it involves spacerope.

  • Sound like Phil fucked up big time.

    Lololololololol, REPPED.

  • I thought the personal tragedy was crow-barred in a bit. Didn't really add anything. Lovely to look at but the other thing that annoyed me was Bullock stripped to her under crackers for no clear reason. Looked lovely though, the spave scenes I mean, gave me vertigo a bit.

  • Finally someone got the subtle reference!

  • Was quite surprised to find Only God Forgives on Netflix last night. Could have sworn it was in local cinemas less than 6 months ago.
Anyway, I watched it and gave it 2 out of a possible 5.
It's not entirely without merit; The plot is blissfully simple, there is some real style in there (it was directed by Nicholas Winding-Road, who did Drive), and the casting of the main character (hint - it isn't Ryan Babygoose) is bang-on.
Kristin Scott Thomas should never have taken the call though...

  • ^where is it on Netflix? Can't seem to find it on the UK or US listings

  • Watching Easy Money, it stars Charlie Brooker as the bad guy

  • Watched Broken last night.

Very good watch and it had my friends little brother in which was nice (Bill Milner)

Comes up under 'Action & Adventure' and 'Foreign Movies' here in the US. Netflix is searchable by title too though.

You'll be hard-pressed to find any contemporary film which doesn't have such plot holes.

And yes, there was a time when you got a better general standard of script (while you still got the dross).

  • one of my favorite marvel heroes.

NOAH - Official Trailer - International English - YouTube

Hopkins looks like "Riffraff" from Rocky Horror.

    Fucking Winstone playing Winstone. Again.

  • Bogota Change - Cities on speed (documentary)

    Bogotá Change (2009) on Vimeo

    Well worth a watch.

Hmm I searched by title in US Netflix but got nothing, damn.

  • Right so watched some movies over the weekend from the upbeat and happy types to the downright violent and most dark and the most surreal.

American Flyers not seen it before but great movie about cycling with Kevin Kostner.
Prisoners another good movie with Jake Glyenhaal one of my favourite actors.
Irreversible if I could would be reversed from my mind. The darkest and most violent movie I have seen. Starring the impossibly beautiful Monica Belluci and the brilliant Vincent Cassel. Do not watch if you are are the squirmish type.
Holy Motors, another French independent movie which is so fucking surreal its unbelievable. Somehow includes Kylie Minoughe and Eva Mendes.

    Come on, spill the beans.

  • spoilers innit

  • Gravity, on a big screen in 3D.

Amazing. I could pick faults in the script, and there's one moment about two-thirds in which killed the tension dead, but an incredible ride, and basically hardcore porn for space hardware fetishists.

    8/10 (film) / 11/10 (visuals and sound)

+1 really enjoyed it in 3D.

  • Gravity

    Mediocre at best. Fell asleep.

I loved Holy Motors. Can also agree with people that say it's pretentious shite, but I really liked it.

Martyrs is also French and horror classic, I started watching it and went MEH. From French director too, Enter The Void. Watched it twice, you may like too.

    not just me then

  • I have a headache today, I blame it on Gravity 3D.

  • Martyrs is brilliant.
