Has anyone seen "We need to talk about Kevin" yet? Last few films I've seen at the cinema have been fairly dark and this one is supposed to be too I think!
I enjoyed the film though it is harrowing. Best movie I've seen for ages mainly because Tilda Swinton is so wonderful (when is she not?).Lots of creepy suspense in the build up to its climax.
Thought the boy Kevin was an odd casting decision though.
James' chief complaint was that there weren't enough answers/explanations and thus he found it implausible.

Tilda Swinton is ace, fact.
I never read the book but I thought the boy Kevin was pretty good even though he pretty much just had the same facial expression the whole time. I liked the fact that there were loose ends, but each to their own I suppose!

Does it actually show some gore this time? I the first film the most gore you got to see was a tiny amount of puss.

Load of pretentious posturing; Pseud's Corner material (the review, not the film).
"Their characters, from melancholic and explosive Captain Haddock to proud and fiery General Alcazar to the vain and affected opera diva Bianca Castafiore, rival any dreamt up by Flaubert or Dickens for sheer strength and depth of personality."
I rest my case.

me too actually. appalling, especially considering when it was being written (as ID4) it was intended to be based on Area 51 and a semi-fact based look at the Majestic project, but was thrown out by studio bosses and re-written god knows how many times....

Should I go and see Tintin?
I've seen loads of reviews along the lines of "If you grew up reading the books, this film will annoy your tits off."
Saw Tintin yesterday. Ace.
It's no oscar contender for plot or twists but it's properly fun and really well animated.
