  • I kinda agree with the non-connection with the characters but you need to get to the end of Pacific - I thought the last episode was extremely moving.
I've got some old school anime lined up next - Vampire Hunter D and Fist Of The North Star (the original version!)

  • just finished the second episode, i was almost moved to tears in it. Its so much better than the pacific

  • new x-chaps fillum.

it's pretty dog garned good! nice tribute to chris claremont era comic bookery. keep your eyes peeled for an attrocious piece of racism. me and mrs CF did a LOL when it happened.

only black guy getting killed off asap?

  • that - and the lingering shot on said black fella when the word 'enslaved' or somesuch was mentioned in the token town-hall speech.

  • And another Philip K Dick adaption, I note.

    Like Minority Report, and Paycheck.

Another one of his books was adapted into a successful film, the name of which has completely gone from my head.

  • Man On Fire is worth watching.

    Definitely!

    Déjà vu

  • This not a good thing.

    I agree.

  • Man On Fire is worth watching.

Good, got it the other day but haven't watched it yet

  • Philip K Dick novel adaptation...........?

  • Saw Fire in Babylon at Everyman yesterday. Brilliant documentary film exploring how the best ever team of sportsmen (The W.Indies were undefeated in test cricket for a straight 15 years. Fact) came to be against a background of racism. How 4 vicious bowlers came to bring a team of brutish ozzies to tears with a severe thrashing how they went on to make their former colonial masters, the england team, 'grovel' at the oval. And all this to a fab reggae and dub beat. A film not only for cricket fans.

Go see Senna - amazing documentary and seeing the onboard footage of Monaco on the cinema screen is outstanding. Very moving film aswell as being somewhat harrowing - the crashes are seriously sobering.

Worth seeing even if you are not into F1/motorsports as its a very good documentary in its own right.

+1 to both of these. I like documentaries in general anyway, but the edits and soundtracks on these two really lent an extra element to the pieces. Both were properly involving, even to a non F1/cricket fan like me, and Senna especially made for a contemplative walk home in the rain.

  • Man On Fire is worth watching.

    Definitely!

Both versions! There is an 80's version starring Scott Glenn and Joe Pesci which is also worth seeing.

    Man on Fire

  • Senna, Wonderful film/doc..

  • I went to see the new X-Men movie the other night. Shit is semi-weak, the girls are all young/mid-teens/jail bait and Dr X is weird when he's doing his mind control thing...

Someone needs to sack up and make a Rogue Trooper / Fr1day movie.. now there's a comic character(s) that deserves a Hollywood hit!

  • Hanna was good... soundtrack fitted amazingly well with the surroundings/what was going on.

  • Going to see Senna on Weds.

    Score to follow.

  • Watched Senna (2h40m version) which was excellent, Source Code was pretty good and Point Blank was very enjoyable fast paced nonsense.

  • Finally got around to watching 'To Live and Die In LA' after talking about it months back. I had somehow blanked out the ending in my mind, so it was a shocker watching it again after so long. The shootings are all pretty gruesome. I don't think they could have scenes like that these days.

  • To Live and Die In LA and Manhunter is a good William Petersen double bill. I thought he was going to have a good movie career but I guess he doesn't mind as CSI has filled his pockets.

  • Good move.

  • The Mechanic.

12 minutes in, and I've already stopped watching.

The Mechanic - 90 mins of my life I won't get back...

Hahaha what were you expecting it's a Jason Stratham movie. Just pointless action film, with a vague story. I got dragged to the cinema to watch it, it was fun because of the company as opposed to the actual movie if you get what I mean.
