  • just re-watched Nicholas Roeg's 'Walkabout', brilliant film with some spectacular and really disconcerting sequences:
YouTube - Walkabout 1971 Nicolas Roeg trailer full

definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Watched Badlands for the first time the other night and for some reason it made me remember this film too.

  • Ghostbusters was just on C5. I think I may have seen it at least 20 times now and it's still my favourite film.

YouTube - The Bus Boys - Cleanin' Up The Town (Ghostbusters Soundtrack)

  • Inception - I turned it off after 20 mins -could.not.be.arsed

I found it long, but definitely worth the time. I liked it a lot.

    Walkabout is excellent.

  • It really insecure to have an explosion on the film thread after I thought some Comic book film was pretty good. I can't even find my bullshit jokey review.

How many fucking hipster cunts are on this forum,

Is it that all your fucking over the top foreign bollox films doesn't really get past the cut if I break it down.

  • YouTube - Cave of Forgotten Dreams trailer

Anyone seen it? I might take a wander down to the Renoir later...

Bit late reply but I enjoyed this. Was my first 3d movie experience as well.

  • watched Hanna the other day, quite enjoyed it.

  • Agreed. Hanna looks like everything that that shite Sucker Punch could have been. In other words, a good adventure film, with lots of violence (that actually makes sense), and a story that at least held the interest.

  • Saw Thor on monday, thought it was good. The voice/accent didn't bug me as much as I thought it was going to. It is short of 2 hours, so in my mind I think they could have had done a little bit more, but thats just me maybe. Looking forward to Captain America and Green Lantern.

  • Isn't the Green Lantern movie just a live action version of the Green Lantern cartoon movie, ie. with the same exact script? If it is, then that would be a real disappointment. I'm hoping I'm wong, as I've seen the cartoon version, and would like the story to be different at least.

  • pfff. that 'Thor' fillum looks rubbish! i for one WON'T be wasting my money seeing it, thank you very much.

    YouTube - ALMIGHTY THOR TRAILER

  • who funds this shit?

  • the 'SyFy Channel''

    allegedly.

It is a ronsil movie ... it is light hearted escapism ... or should all movies be really gritty and serious?

  • gritty, serious and something to think about, yes...

this is the films thread - straight to video movies thread is elsewhere>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Amazingly the review of Thor on radio 4's Front Row gave the film a glowing review comparing with all the other Marvel Superhero adaptations for not taking itself seriously, being genuinely funny and featuring a god rather than technologically enhanced humans like Iron Man's Suit and Hulks radiation exposure.

ha! irony is not your strongpoint is it?

different Thor film. That Almighty Thor looks worse than terrible, check out the slo mo jump-stab bit at the end that's stolen right from 300.

  • what's the film where there's these mental robots that kill people but they look like people and shit and they don't want to die or something? It's got that chap from starwars in it with an arse for a chin too.... fuck. if only I could remember.

anyway. it's light hearted escapism. and gritty and serious. you should watch it.
