  • That's where we watched it. That site disappears from time to time, pops back up with a slightly different URL

  • Seems quite mad that’s it’s £16 to stream everywhere. I’ve never seen anything more than £5

  • Really want to watch the Holdovers but it seems very Christmassy and a shame it wasn't released 1 month earlier. I'll hold out until December(ish) when it'll be much easier to find/stream.

  • Definitely worth doing this I think. It stands to become a Christmas tradition!

  • The trailer is lovely. I thought I had the perfect Christmas movie sorted when I first saw it but then saw the UK release date...

  • We really enjoyed it but it was a bit odd watching it mid January!

  • Wicked Little Letters, a jolly good film you foxy arsed piss bums!

  • Watched this on Monday, loved it, very funny but also quite uncomfortable at times, Olivia Colman has nailed down playing women on the edge of losing it, Empire of light had a similar vibe as did the one about her going on holiday and getting mixed up with the welfare of a chav family’s child.
Have no issue with this trope because she does emotional vulnerability so well and with conviction.

  • Just seen the new Dune, loved it. The way these films look and sound is incredible. Some very cool scenes, great costumes.

  • Watched the first one again for the 5th time last night, so good, really looking forward to 2.

  • I just watched Priscilla on Mubi. Not bad but definitely not Sophia Coppola's best. It all felt a bit flat to me.

  • Sisu, recommended!

  • Yeah same, felt like a TV movie, seemed pretty sanitised too

  • American Fiction. Amazing. Best movie of the year for me. Laugh out loud funny throughout with incredible writing and fantastic performances from the whole cast. So good

  • TV movie might be a bit harsh but yep, sanitised is a good way to describe it.

  • The Holdovers - absolutely loved it. Beautiful and melancholic with some brilliant performances.

  • Yep. Got extremely high 8 from me.
    So wholesome and fun!

  • Don’t wanna sound like a hypeman but this might be my favorite movie of all time. Stunning in every way.

  • Don’t wanna sound like a hypeman but this might be my favorite movie of all time. Stunning in every way. Has to be seen in the biggest screen possible and preferably imax.

  • I've got tickets to see it on Wednesday at the new Dolby Cinema screen in Battersea Power Station.

The theatre has been getting rave reviews, so I'm looking forward to checking it out. Also stupid excited about the film.

  • IMAX (Cambridge not proper one unfortunately), next Tuesday for me.

Unreasonably excited to see it. Loved part 1.

  • Ha, I know right? I want to see it again. Yep, you’re right it has to be seen in a decent cinema.

  • Went to see Dune Part 2 yesterday and it's been playing on my mood since. It was just so brilliant to me but I have a sort of melancholy now. I thought the performances were pretty much perfect across the board, visuals were stunning, story excellent, sound design and music astounding. I only read the book for the first time a few months ago in prep for it and I already want to read it again. Plan to read the rest of the series instead though.

  • One Life

Kind of almost a great film. It's a by-the-numbers telling of the Nicholas Winton story and it may well make you cry but the script is a bit clunky and the starving ghetto children look like stage school kids in Oxfam coats.

Whitehall was definitely not helpful in getting the child refugees to Britain, plus you could level the same accusations at this film as Schindler's List received - a movie director took the holocaust and tried to make a feel-good story. The lady who played Esther Rantzen was good.

Remember Herbert Lom out of The Pink Panther films? He arrived in Britain in '39, he was allowed entry, his Jewish girlfriend was refused, she later died in a camp. It haunted Lom the rest of his life.
