Normally I am too but that film really does a number on me.

If anyone else is Manchester based and wants to drink beer and watch films then it's the last Monday of the month at the Tallyrand in Levy.

I feel like this about A Serbian Film.
-
• #19780
After reading the synopsis of that I vowed never to watch it.
-
• #19781
That's why I never watched that 😬

A synopsis spoiler read of A Serbian Film is more than enough.
I'm not sure why anyone would want to watch it. Bleak.

Ditto this
While wrestling with the pressures of life, love, and work in Manhattan, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte join Samantha for a trip to Abu Dhabi

A short film about killing
That actually sounds really good though whereas AFAIK know A Siberian Film is just shockwank

I suspect probably morbid curiosity at the time. Stuck with me for some time that film, yuck.

I liked a bit of OMG filmage in the early 00s, Takeshi Miike was a regular feature, but I drew the line ASF.
Like @Cazakstan said, the synopsis is enough to put you off (I think I read the whole plot of wiki and wish I hadn't) -

Rye Lane was really fun. Lovely little film.
But unfortunately before it, saw the trailer for Air. Full length a-list infomercial. Can't think of anything worse. Coupled with the release of Tetris and Super Smash Bros - it really does seem like the end days for cinema. So depressing.

Nice thread on Casablanca Records, I get the feeling she didn’t like the movie

I just rewatched Hereditary for the first time since it came out. Absolutely unbelievable. Got a lot more out of it this time round, primarily due to not being as completely terrified.

It's brilliant eh? I re-watched Midsommar not so long ago, same deal. Such a wild ride. Can't wait for his next one
-

I think I preferred Midsommar on first viewing (probably because it's not as terrifying the whole way through) but think Hereditary has overtaken it after a second viewing! Yeah, really keen to see that too. Ari Aster and Joaquin? Surely you can't go wrong?

I hear what you are saying. However, i understand that the crux of the Air story is the role Delores Jordan had in making her son the biggest endorsement deal in sport history (okay I might have made that up), which went on to become iconic street footwear. Also conditions from Michael Jordan that key people were written into the script and that his mum was played by Viola Davis.
This could all be pre-release hype though

Florence Pugh was on off the menu podcast recently, midsommar never appealed as it didn't seem my thing and I was a bit on the fence but looking forward to watching it now after they chatted a little about it, nice menu too.

I think she's pretty good!

She was on Hot Ones this week. New crush.

Yeah saw that!

Saw the DnD film this evening (yes with my DnD group). Was predictable but fun. Got a few laughs from the whole room at several points. Don’t think the DnD theme necessarily played out to a full potential but an ok setting for the most part.

I just watched the new Willem Dafoe film 'Inside' and really liked it. If you don't mind films like this where it's all in one location I thoroughly recommend it.
Had massive 'apartment envy' though! 😁 -

Just finished watching Dear Comrades...far from uplifting but interesting window into dysfunctions of Soviet/Russian society
Did enjoy it, don't remember any profound emotions but then i am dead inside/very normal.
Nice to hear when someone connects with a movie like that, sometimes loose faith in newer movies speaking to me anymore and it reminds me to keep trying new stuff.
