I really enjoyed Dune - though having not read the books or seen the Sting version, it took a little while to get into what was going on and why.
Also watched Attack the Block again last night - great fun. -

Can't get over this scene from Lynch's Dune. Just charging into battle against our hated enemy

At least you can tell which power rangers belong to which side.

I’ve read all the Dune books by Frank Herbert.. also Star Wars robbed tons from it, cloning (later chapters), tatooine, spice smuggling, obese characters, mind control, giant worms etc.
the original Dune film was ace, books are better though. The Fremen parallels are overtly Islamic though not a criticism, but I wonder whether this is sheer mockery on the authors part. Okay it’s science fiction and message should be don’t follow the prophet..
Monty Python should do Dune version in the same style as Life of Brian

Just out of Dune Enjoyed it. Looking forward to part 2. Quite steady paced which was nice. Looks great.
May be a few too many Timoteee slo mos though.

Went to see Dune late afternoon today. About 40 people in the cinema. I have seen the David Lynch version a couple of times, including at the cinema. Not read the books, but like playing the game (Megadrive, PS2, pc).
Anyway, was really impressed by Villeneuve's film. 10/10. Really looking forward to part 2, may even part 1 again at the cinema.

After Villa-Ru mentioned it, Attack the Block gets a well deserved rewatch.
I loved it when I first saw it on the big screen.I even have a poster of it up on the landing wall (I have a collection of alternative movie posters, Mondo and the like)
The green bits glow in the dark, it's rad.

Who the hell did you get that from! Sounds awesome. How many posters do you have? Waiting for a re-run on that true romance one.

absolutely baffled how Army of thieves is somehow a perfectly watchable popcorn and pass the time heist movie when Army of the Dead was such an unredeeming steaming pile of shit.
it's like they only had a very specific amount of cocaine to last them for both films and they used it all making the first one.

The artist is Matt Taylor, I got it from Vice Press.
I have a few, on the walls are Jaws, Raptor & T-Rex and a reprint of the OG Jurassic Park cover, signed by Chip Kidd (the artist).
(I am a Jurassic Park fan boy, as you can tell)
I also have a folder with maybe a dozen other things (probably more now I start thinking about it)Edit: also hung the Tyler Stout Terminator , same artist (and his signature style) as the True Romance.
eBay will be the best place for a copy of his stuff, doubt any will be reprinted. -

I am a Jurassic Park fan boy
I was having an argument with someone the other day about how Jurassic Park might be the perfect cinematic experience. It’s got it all.
Damned fine selection you have. Really dig the line work by Tyler Stout. You selling any of the posters perchance?

Jurassic Park
Possibly the greatest blockbuster there ever has been or will be. Such a great film.

vastly would be a gross overstatement. very much just trashy entertainment, it's just markedly more watchable than the other film in the series.

Without Remorse on Amazon prime.. Pish
Night Drive on Netflix (I think).. also pish
Last two Saturday nights have ended catching up with Alan and Gary due to a lack of decent B movie actioneers..

Jurassic park was my first film in a cinema, shit me up something proper, my brother and sister were too young so they watched Bambi on the only other screen at some tiny cinema in probably Cornwall or Devon, maybe South Wales.

One last horror-y film for October. I enjoyed it a lot, quite well done, unpredictable and pretty uncomfortable throughout.

There hasn't been a classic (really stupid) Roland Emerich film for a while
Adding to "to watch" list :)
