  • Frances McDormand is a bit good, isn't she?

Oh you betcha, yeah. Her filmography is nuts good, I remember her showing up in 3 of my favourites I was allowed to watch when young (Raising Arizona, Mississippi Burning and Darkman).

  • I have booked a cinema ticket!! I am so happy.

  • Thought Sound of Metal was great. There was chat on here about Riz Ahmed being a knob head IRL which made the first third even more testing but I thought the journey was really well played out.

  • Congratulations! What are you going to see?

  • Raising Arizona is so good, not seen the others. Can't believe Fargo hasn't been mentioned yet.

  • I watched Scanners for the first time last night. Kind of saggy in the middle but worth sticking around for the absolutely mental ending.

  • Can't believe Fargo hasn't been mentioned yet

Yeah, we were gonna watch it last night but I didn't think my partner would last until the end. The Brood is on Amazon now, not seen it so may give that a try instead

  • I've not seen The Brood either. Videodrome is still my favourite of his.

  • Judas and the Black Messiah!

  • Mitchell's Vs the machines is great stuff, my daughter's not even on her tablet.

  • Good film, sadly literally a bible for many conspiracy theorists.

  • Going through a Hitchcock season atm, ended up watching The Birds. I really enjoyed how it felt like a template for Romero and Carpenter and all the rest, had a real 'small town in lockdown and everyone blaming everyone else, the real monster is man!' sort of vibe but I also thought compared to the his films from the same period (North by North West, Psycho, Vertigo, et al) it was a bit one-note. Amazing effects though.

  • Watched all 14 hours of Tenet the other day. Might have been an interesting concept in there had the film-making been any good.
And I if could have heard a word they said (>>>>> middle-aged thread).

  • Pretty nuts and bolts but In search of the last actions heroes on Prime is a good watch for Action nerds. Pretty much every childhood favourite covered. @DethBeard your man Scott Adkins seems like a decent chap as does Shane Black who i'm a big fan of. Main oversight was Brandon Lee though, he only made a few films but i loved all of them when i was young.

  • Also, fuck actors doing 3 months of kung fu to make martial arts films, you all look like Roger Moore to me.

  • Watched Another Round at the weekend.

I can safely say it's the best film I r seen in some time..

  • Just finished watching Bone Tomahawk, it's on Amazon Prime atm.

I know it's been said many times on this thread but it is really fucking good.

  • Been meaning to watch it again. Thanks for the reminder / heads up that it's on Prime.

  • Oh, Dragged Across Concrete is also on Prime. That’ll be a suitable chaser.

  • Thanks for the tip, will check it out.

Funny enough I am watching a Scott Adkins flick tonight, Seized.
John Wick meets Commando (but not as good as either) SA kicking the living tar out of dozens of Mexicans.

  • Typical that the first thing I thought was "Oooh...Angelina Jolie has a Cobra buckle on her belt" 😂

  • I just watched Terminal Velocity with Charlie Sheen. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a parody but it’s a pretty good one.

  • Army of the dead now on netflix.
