  • I've actually never seen Nightmare on Elm Street!

  • Enjoy, they don't make em like they used to...

  • First one is good!

  • First one is camp and self-aware, I love it.
    Avoid the 2000s remake/reboot, it's truly terrible.

  • It's nearly October, aka "watch a shit load of horror films month". Anyone got any suggestions?

    ‘Rec’

    Really budget stuff, but enjoyable.

  • Yep another vote for Rec

    Also Martyrs 2008 version

    And The Devil's Backbone

  • So long as it's the original Spanish version of REC.
I also really liked The Orphanage.

  • I wouldn't consider it a horror, but I still think The Babadook is a great film.

  • The Orphanage

    Another good one!

  • @greenhell ta for "feels good man" tip. Good documentary. Ta man

  • Martyrs 2008 version

    Fucked up beyond words.

  • I tried to watch martyrs and it felt like Funny games : Anti entertainment.

  • I rewatched Mandy last night for the first time since I saw it at the cinema. I would strongly, strongly recommended giving it a watch. It's not really what you'd expect from a 2018 Nicholas Cage film and it just looks amazing.

  • Watched Mandy last night after it being recommend on here, so good!

  • I've had 4 goes at Mandy now, it's mad and wonderful but I need to stop trying to watch it a bit drunk or high, despite the third and fourth viewing being from part way through I keep falling asleep before the end. I think the over the top lighting and music is weirdly soothing to me.

  • I was talked out of taking acid before the first time I saw that film which I think is probably the best advice I've ever received.

  • Ha, yeah I think that would be a little bit much.

  • Rocks lives up to its great reviews, it’s outstanding. If you enjoy it then Divines is worth watching too.

  • A remastered version of Akira is out in the cinema ATM.

    Books tickets

  • Booked mine ages ago. Saw it last night at the IMAX.

    It was fucking amazing.

  • I'm on a spooky film tip this month.

Hush is really very good, on Netflix. Not your average horror, give it a watch but don't read up first.

  • Me and the Mrs watched Antebellum tonight - it’s had lots of bad reviews.

We thought the plot twists worked well, it kept us both hooked all the way through, at one point near the end it made a strong statement but overall that message was a bit cloudy. My wife’s conclusion was she didn’t enjoy it, I thought there was a good film hiding in there.

  • LUZ: Low budget horror about an entity following a woman to possess her. Not bad, plot is quite basic but some good moments. Hope the people involved will make more movies.

The love witch: 70s exploitation movie homage with satirical elements about a woman that ends up in a witch cult and can make love options that actually work. With unpleasant results... Not bad, well written light and costumes well done, worked for me.

  • I watched Final Destination for the first time ever yesterday. Absolutely incredible, couldn't stop laughing at all of the over the top, Rube Goldberg-esque deaths and terrible turn of the millennium fashion.

  • 1-3 are all worth a watch. the rollercoaster one is maybe my favourite (3? maybe 2, I can't remember)
(4 is dogshit and 5 only worth it for completism)

Its a franchise from the 2000s that holds up (unlike Saw/ Paranormal Activity/ Conjuring, et al)
