The house that Jack built. My review: Lars Von Trier is a fucked up misogynist who dresses up his fantasy of violence against women as art so he can hide behind the label of Auteur.

Oo new climbing film! Going to seek out Dirtbags, ta.

Mary Queen of the Scots - not an expert but I guess the story is close to how the historical events unfolded. Never a dull moment however didn't find it quite as entertaining as The Favourite. 7/10 for me

They've definitely used some 'artistic license'
They never even met in real life and Mary grew up in France so would have had a French accent... I'm sure those aren't the only inaccuracies.

Dirtbag looks good. Fred Beckey was a familiar name, and the “will belay for food” photo is super classic but I don’t actually know much about the guy. Keen to watch!

Just caught the Simpsons episode with the Warriors skit. Loved it. Must re-watch it soon.

i've always been intrigued by this story. Varg Vikerenes is easily the biggest fucking bellwhiff in modern musical history. amazing that he and Faust got about 20 years a piece for straight up fucking murder.
it looks cringey but then again so was the whole scene.

finally got round to watching West of Memphis on the weekend.
gut churning on every level. from the brutality of the murder of 3 kids, the Satanic Panic that led to the arrest of 3 teenagers who were essentially coached to implicate themselves by the local police, all the way to the venal shittiness of the justice system that deployed their old boy network to ensure 3 innocent men spent 20 odd years in jail.
looks good too.
7/7

Thanks for the tip.
Never heard of it and rented it for tonight’s day off.Fasciting.
Just beware - rented it on Amazon and only after that found out it doesn’t have english subtitles.
Even my English boyfriend had troubles understanding some of the parts with strong accent. -

Can't remember the last time I watched a film where the lead was so badly miscast like Nicole Kidman in Destroyer. I mean, she's good, but the story is all a bit samey.

They Shall Not Grow Old tonight. Very excited.

Watching Green Book tomorrow.
Anyone seen it? -
• #14948
Aye, a hilarious film.
A wee voice in the back of my head was asking "Is this film sneering at these people or just honestly portraying their lifestyle" but mostly I just enjoyed it tremendously.

Yes. I thought it was very enjoyable.

Watched Vice tonight, it’s House of Cards brought to life, I thought it was very well casted & acted and quite gripping.
@EagleEyez I’m going back to watch it again on Monday
@greenhell
Yep I know, but that’s movieland for you, despite all that it’s a great film.
This is a good critique.
