Saw Mandy on Saturday. Definitely worthy of the hype as it somehow treads that line of being beautifully made but also totally mental and genuinely funny/not taking itself too seriously.
Not for everyone, though.

Got to say I enjoyed a Star is Born. Worth watching at the cinema.
Pretty impressed by LGs acting.
Also in other music related film I watched Straight outa Compton (or whatever NWA the musical is called). Not going to change your life, but a pretty fun film for passing the commute.

VS is well worth a watch, saw it last week and really enjoyed it. Southend looks great on film. It is not a British '8 Mile'.
Plus a mate directed it, well chuffed for him as he's spent years of his time to make it happen

My favourite thing about robocop is that the directors cut is only about a minute longer - it’s all just extra gore, not extraneous plot lines.

how they could take such a great film and reimagine/boot it with such utter drivel. personally i would have been so embarressed as a producer on the reboot i would have just said "guys guys, it aint working lets just forget it, stop, stop right now and burn it please"

I watched The Night Comes For Us (partly on Greenhells mention, mainly because MrsDeth noticed Iko Uwais and insisted we watch it)
The gore is excessive and hilarious with it, the violence is indeed extreme and graphic.

Went to see Fahrenheit 11/9 for work, good documentary in it's own way but exhausting to watch as it doesn't let up or pause for the entirety of 2hrs.

Laurie, a professional downhill racer gets fired, she returns to Montreal where she is welcomed by her geeky but cute brother. She meets Lorenzo, a cranky, ex-racer who owns a bike shop. The two become friends. Laurie gets a job with a local bicycle courier company to make money.
So far so nothing to deep, but loads of proper bike geekery, a wheel lacing joke and details on "the day in a life of a courier" (people being megaslow giving you the parcel, nobody at reception) and some genuine love for cycling make it a fun watch.
Hard to get online but the DVD is cheap on ebay.

Halloween (2018) is a worthy sequel.
The violence is rather extreme and graphic in some scenes and then others it's off camera and only heard (which was grim)
There are some nods and winks to the original, I liked but others may hate.
And there is comedy. Again I didn't mind it and didn't ruin the film, but it's quite a devisive and I can imagine people hating being taken out of the moment by half a cinema laughing out loud.I am a fanboi of John Carpenter and his original is one of my favourite films, this doesn't shit all over it.
And his score is all over it, and it's wonderful. -

An impressive remake of one of my favourite films: Suspiria
Interesting take on a remake as a cover version

Satisfied my morbid curiosity immediately when I couldn't make it past the first minute of the new Adam Sandler stand up show on netflix.
Thought they were putting canned laughter over him talking, nope just the most sycophantic audience ever. literally laugh-wanking themselves raw at his every muscle twitch.

Watched Mandy in cinema yesterday.
Enjoyed every second of it. Don’t remember last movie I’ve seen in cinema that I was completely hypnotized by with and watching it with open mouth at moments.
(probably Mother! was last movie I enjoyed this much). If you have at least tiny interest seeing this, watch it in cinema. The colours, effects and music/noise is just incredible on big screen/speakers.
Scene with Nick Cage in bathroom with bottle of vodka gave me chills!

Where does that scene with the bottle of vodka take place?

You were never really here.
90 minute belter - to the point and all the better for it.Deadfall.
Hilariously wooden acting by all, Nic Cage is in another dimension- gleefully entertaining but clearly not for everyone! -

Went to see that Queen movie.
Was okay. Sanitised feelgood movie. With a killer soundtrack obvs. ;)
6/10 -

There are no Queen songs in it?
Goosebumps 2: entertainment enough even though there was no surprises. Wee man liked it too.
I don't feel at home in this world anymore: Not convinced by later bit of movie but nice watch and characters.
