  • watched this gem on the weekend.
    vomiting cats!

    man eating lampshades!
    floating heads!
    hot asian girls in underpants!
    singing!
    absolutely un-followable plot!

  • Watched "the Men who stare at goats" thought it wasn't as interesting as the book.

These are the Black Swan posters on the bus shelters...

I've always wanted to have the funny games one hanging in my house, but reckon it's a little too dark. Was a nice change to see a poster like this when they went up on bus stops, I think they changed them to a more commercial one later.
    Here we go... http://mubi.com/notebook/posts/1397

  • Apart from the fact the shot for shot remake, is gash, compared to the original.

  • Natalie Portman is aesthetically pleasing.

  • Created by La Boca they are really dramatic and striking, make me think of old eastern european cinema posters. My first experience of La Boca work was with Simian Mobile Disco's artwork, good to see them gaining wide spread recognition for an awesome campaign.

I don't fully know why (the various inconsistent fonts, the fast that they're evidently not drawn by hand?), but these seem fake to me and don't do it for me at all. They feel a bit like those bands that 'do' 70s-this-and-that music or 60s-this-and-that fashion, without much originality, if any. I'll happily agree that these posters are better than the vast majority of today's movie posters, but that's not difficult.

    Shame she can't act. :)

That film and posters look like a riff off Dario Argento's Suspiria (One of my favorite films)

  • Shame she can't act. :)

Caught a bit of the Phantom Menace on TV the other day and quite apart from being utter scutter, Natalie Portman's acting was shockingly appalling

  • Filming the MGM logo/intro in 1924. Wow.

  • Just finished watching Moon. Exactly my sort of film with an interesting premise.

Really liked it! < Sorry for my verbose review.

  • Moon is awesome. I love Sam Rockwell.... He rules in Welcome To Collingwood.

Watched Bobby the other day... Thought it was really good.

  • Moon is good! Watched it last week :)

It's a great shame too as her performance in Léon was fantastic.

  • moon is directed by David Bowie's son

  • Watched Catfish tonight, I watch a LOT of documentaries and assumed this was one, then about a third of the way through I thought it was a Blair Witch type deal, then I started thinking too much, then it just kind of ended
    Still thinking about it

  • just watched 127 hours at the ritzy. I liked it, very well crafted. Franco was good too, when i first saw him in spidey i didnt think i wouldnt ever want to not punch him. PLeasantly surprised.

If you like rockwell, check out lawndogs. Great movie and still very relevant to dumbass cloistered americanos.

  • Found Moon a bit meh, very derivative...all the regular sci fi visual cues.....

However, if you liked it watch Silent Running, one of my fave sci fi films, which Moon referenced quite a bit

  • I thought Moon was one of the best Sci fi films I've ever seen.
I think it was the pace of the film, and the atmosphere.
    Loved it.

Silent Running is up there though. Bruce Dern is fantastic in it.
From an 'eco' perspective, the film is decades ahead of it's time.

A bit of trivia - The ship in the movie is called 'Valley Forge', and a lot of the 'cavernous interior' shots were filmed in a decommissioned aircraft carrier due for scrapping called... Valley Forge.

  • I thought Moon was one of the best Sci fi films I've ever seen.

    not saying much

  • Anyone else ever notice hat 'short round' from indiana jones and the temple of doom and elmo have the same voice?

  • aparantly the kid who plays him didnt speak a lick of english before he was cast. or so mrs cf would have us believe.

/vishnu's arse but that's one jawdroppingly rrrrrrracist film - comically so.
