i can't wait to see Miles Ahead - Don Cheadle next week,
but more importantly Marvin Gaye's story, i hope they manage to sort out music rights / funding / release etc. -

I saw Jungle Book last night, I enjoyed it a lot. The music isn't as prevalent or quite as good, but the scenery and animals are incredible.
Brave of Ron Perlman to play King Louie without any make up or prosthetics too.

Film fest: Dag (Norwegian TV series) Starts acerbic but turns a bit rom com later... Torsk pa Tallinn (screwed in Tallinn) is better in the acerbic / downbeat dating genre.
Cronenberg spider: Can't fault the direction, acting, cinematography. Excellent but quite slow...

Yes. It's been out in Europe for a bit.
It's worth seeing for sure. Low budget, high tension.

Exited?
So you are out/not watching this one? -
• #12609
Exited to a different reality. Exciting place

Land of mine about German soldiers forced to clean up land mines in Denmark comes highly recommended by a mate of mine.

Went to see High-Rise on date night with the missus last night. Really don't bother. Quite how that pish was so well reviewed I have no idea.
If Kubrick had adapted it 20 years ago, it would have been good. But he didn't, so it's not. It's a mess. Also - Tom Hiddlestone is basically just Fassbender-lite.

As @tommmmmmm said on the last page, Jungle Book is fantastic. See it in 3D if you can, it's unobtrusive but does enhance the experience.
Stick around too for the credits; some fun 3D and music with Kernit Ruffins & Dr John.

Belgica - Decent indie film about the rise and fall of a semi-fictional cafe/club in Ghent and the two brothers who own it. Great soundtrack (by 2manydjs/soulwax) with very plausible fake bands.
Noah - Fucking ridiculous with all sorts of shitty CGI, anachronistic technology and Russel Crowe being an arsehole. Passable hangover material.

Finally got to watch Miles Ahead, i think Miles Davis would have approved of Don Cheadle's potrayal. It's obvious alot of passion went into the story, it just missed a few notes.
I need to watch again. 3.5/5

I reckon it would make a great stage play though -

What the hell went wrong with High-Rise? Such a waste.

If Kubrick had adapted it 20 years ago
If only. It could have been magnificent.
I think some plonker in Variety likened High-Rise to A Clockwork Orange. Total shocker.
The score and cover music was awkward too.

I'm going to review this review and give it 5/5. Would read again :-)

Watched London Has Fallen tonight, very corny but good fun and does manage to get the heart rate up a bit occasionally.

The Krampus = Good fun.
The Hallow = decent horror. An Irish 'The Thing' (The Ting, if you will). -

Transporter Rebollocksed - load of shit.
The OG transporter was guff but entertaining enough, the reboot was poor and terrible.
2/10(spent £1 renting it from Google play, ripped off)
Watching Hush now, so far so good.

Civil War was good fun. Yeah.

But he's so witty and irreverent!
Had to do a long flight, so did my movie watching for the year:
Spectre - not very good, but better than Skyfall/QOS
Inside Out - not all it's cracked up to be
Great Gatsby - really bad
Mean Girls - really good, predict great things for this Lohan girl
The Graduate - decent soundtrack
Peanuts Movie - terrible
Revenant - fell asleep drunk
