Yadda, yadda... but strength and balance is important in improving mallet/ball handling.
One of the reasons I struggle so much playing with a bad back, balance is totally shot if I'm having a flare up... Dab City...

I guess having a bike and a mallet which increases flexiblity can only do so much. I'd hate to have a bad back or an ailment which decides whether I could do something or not. (being a lefty doesn't count)
Touch wood!!

You can be very, very flexible & have a super-strong core.
Absolutely.
What I meant was that I mistook my flexibility as being sufficient for the way I pushed myself, whereas you also need to have a strong core to support such body contortions.

Ha! Emmet, my mallet is also exactly 87cm, short mallets ftw. (reading this is kind of weird.....)
Trying harvey's mallethead soon btw -

Is that from your collection of "flexible dudes in nothing but tight shorts"?
Nice ;)
After the initial distraction of tight shorts and scenery.
It's a classic David Swenson pic. Anna's got his Ashtanga manual & it's full of pics of him pulling poses on rocks.
Is that pic from one of your brokeback trips with Erik Zo?
Erik don't do yoga, AFAIK. Nice homophobic quip, tho. Not.

Mine have been growing slowly from just under 90cm to approaching 100cm, maybe it's time to shrink again?

Wooden skewer? Nice touch...

its old school... you can use a spoke. I remember someone in the states just using a bit of plastic extrusion.

I use a short length of wire-core washing line, goes bendy after a bit but still does the job... I'm gonna go with a wooden skewer next time... Or a chopstick...

after changing my setup, longer stem bit more 'up front' generally, my mallet felt a little too long last night, by 1/2 cm.
Emmets probably one of the more flexible players around. #youthonyourside
