  • I'm now wondering wether cutting the butt cheeks out of my bibs, has has been sending the wrong message all these years.

  • Don't be such a hetero...

  • Sometimes I think people just need to harden the fuck up a little bit.

I couldn't live my life getting offended about things people say. Surely there are bigger fish to fry?

    This

Some people still seem to think all scousers are robbing cunts and would sell their own granny

  • you would

  • Yeah, but he's not a real scouser, more of a plastic one.

  • I've just FINALLY found some summer tops that fucking fit me (wide shoulders, long torso, slim waist) and it's made me really happy. Nice Bianchi top and a overly tech Bontrager one.

So I guess, they've made my day a little gayer?

  • What's better than the Lycra stigma is the fact i have been asked if i'm wearing a bra.... (outline of HRM chest strap seen through back of jersey)

The bastard wouldnt listen, and as i took my top off to show, i reveal bib shorts....

I just accepted i looked "gay" and cycled off

    HTH

  • Yeah, but he's not a real scouser, more of a plastic one.

You referring to me or MikeC?

  • You. Mike's a plastic koppite.

Its not about being offended, you have to try pretty hard to offend me generally, but why should I NOT be less than pleased about the appropriation of my sexuality as a common turn of phrase for something thats 'a bit shit'?

  • I thought lycra gear was pretty much unanimously accepted as rather useful in most sports these days. Foot ball & rugby players often seem to have shit like this on:

In all seriousness i get this when I cycle to rugby training during winter. In bibs+a dozen or so other lycra layers. The crap use of the word gay aside. It weirds me out that people think sitting on their arse in a 4x4 for 10mins, is somehow more masculine than cycling along harsh winter roads.

    Quite!

  • Heterophobe

I do not know what I am talking about.

  • I was wondering about 'straight'. I use it as a vaguely derogatory term on occasion, without meaning to refer to sexuality. Was 'straight' in the sexuality sense coined by the gay community? And was this much later than its existence as a term to describe either non-drug users or those without a shred of alternativeness (alternativity?) about them?

  • I used to date a girl a while back who was into some very kinky shit. Stuff that made me scared and scarred.

Afterwards a couple of times of doing stuff well beyond the realms of safe/normal, she'd occasionally say, "you're pretty straight, aren't you?"

  • Am I fuck! You're just a fucking mental case!

    Good point

    As a reaction to 'bent'?

    Do go on.....

  • don't.

  • unless we agree a safe word.

  • Does the same apply to 'vanilla' as straight? Bi/guy folks I know seem to use this as an adjective when talking about folks being hetero in their outlook. Or maybe I got got the wrong end of the stick.

  • Balki, are we talking Stevie Nicks kinda stuff? Veronica Moser?

  • Eh? Stevie Nicks? Whaddaya mean? As someone with a penchant for the odd Fleetwood Mac binge I'm intrigued!
