Go ride yer bikes for me, I have finals to do.

  • winston NY dustmen wear Carharrt and we've got a shop in carnaby street selling their caps for £25.....we Londoners really are a bunch of tits aren't we?.......that goes for brand-obsessed label-headed bike obsessivists too.....no better than dumb airheaded Prada junkies.

You say these dustmen are from New York?

    £25 you say?

runs to Carnaby St for deal of the century

    Bill's thinking of Ben Davis.
"Ben Davis Co. is working class chic, the Harley Davidson of coarse clothing. For 60 years, Ben Davis has been inspiring customer loyalty from ditch diggers and hipsters with a line of work clothes still cut from patterns drawn in the 30's."

Have to throw huge props to Ben Davis as their clothing is made by unionised labour in San Francisco. Much better than Dickies on so many levels and roughly the same price. How much longer they do is though is an unknown as they've made noises about moving some or all production to more labour friendly climes.

A total fakenger is tit like me, who on first moving to london tried to get a job as a messenger so borrowed a radio holster (all keen like) and has never taken it off my bag. Keep meaning to though.

Anyway, I generally find if you ride a bike and don't have access to showers etc, you end up dressing pretty similar to everyone else. Sure theres a little bit of copying but most of its born of practicality.

  • photoben
MrSmith they smell funny

I'm pretty certain I met you a few months ago (after a CM), and you turned your nose up at my Langster. Git. ;-P
never been to a CM, cos i knew you were going to be there on your smelly bike :-)
a langster was just the first mass produced fixed bike that came into my head, if i had used filmore, touche or madison some people wouldn't have understood.

  • Right, I take it back. Thought it was you.

Nah, you have a fair point though, mass produced will never be as good home-made. Just like the best item Waitrose can produce isn't going to beat Mum's cooking.

  • you haven't tasted my mums cooking

  • Pah. I'm not gonna be a fakenger. I'm gonna get me some Plus-Fours, deeerstalker cap and a Penny Farthing....

...Then I'll get me a job delivering packages around the city.

  • Anyway, what really winds me up is all these fake web-developers out there, who hang out in web-developer fashion (jeans rolled up, shoulder bag) and ride cool web-developer fixed wheel bikes...

  • What are they called? webengers? fakelopers?

  • trampsparadise
ImOnCrank
trampsparadise Phone, email, whisper me about that head if you still need, I don't have your number.

I always knew you was a ho.
I swear baby, it's not what it looks like! It's just talk, I promise!
You know I'd never go round your back except to give you that reacharound.
i had my suspicions about you guys- jack, you told me i was the only one for you, a little part inside of me has died.

  • Fakengers are nothing...

what really gets me are those fuckers in the city wearing ties and suits, pretending to be lawyers just because of that new movie about lawyers coming out.

    Fucking posers.

  • and those other pricks riding around in hi-vis waistcoats pretending to be road workers

  • There the ones that nick all the construction equipment.. :)

  • 31trum and those other pricks riding around in hi-vis waistcoats pretending to be road workers

People in hi-vis coats probably did not get any dates in high school. Dating was not safe...

  • yeah, s'gainst elf n sayfty.

Can you get them in london? im always looking for relatively cheap casual trousers. Ok well not always, but when i need a new pair of trousers i am.

yesterday i saw a womaen on a hybrid with disc breaks, wearing a helmet with a light on the front and back, one of those darth vader masks, a hi vis jacket, full finger gloves, trousers with reflective stripes,a nd held up with reflective straps, both lights on rideing on the side walk.

  • If it makes her feel safe and shes on abike can't complain too much aprt from the riding on the pavment thing of course.

I have seen a few people wearinf fullface though that seems a bit over the top.

  • thats so pedestrians can see her

  • side walk?
were you in LA or NY?

  • by darth vader masks i mean those algern filter things that make you look like darth
