-

i've looked at the bricklane basketball pitch and seems good enough to me it's always open therefore...free, sounds pretty cheap to me.
-
• #81
bricklane is not walled, won't work
-
• #82
Thats just off hackney road. DOnt remmeber there being one in haggerston park.. and google sat doesnt show it (tho it coulda been built after that...) -
• #83
This one looks good - quite big!
I can see some nasty action going on once the ball will lodge itself behind these blue bars against the wall... -
• #84
Those bars look lethal - wouldn't want to hit them at speed. Might be better to find a court where you can play off the walls more easily and where there's less stuff to hit.
-
• #85
I passed by the brick lane one last night, its not walled, its fenced - but the fence is hard and the holes in it are smaller than a golf ball so i wouldnt see a problem with it.
-
• #86
plus fences are softer to hit with your body than walls.
I gotta check this brick lane place out - sounds like the best.

yeah have a look, i woulda taken a pic but it was 1am and cam phone is shit at night + distance.

OK - went there today - and it's pretty much perfect!
- central/east
- close to cheap and tasteless bagels
- close to overpriced Bike shop
- fenced, flat
I hereby announce the official London Urban Bike Polo Field open!
Problems:
- a bit smaller than the NYC court, and no fence behind one of the goals.
- goals are quite wide, we could use them or have cones in front maybe
- some areas of the fence don't go down to the bottom, the ball could escape underneath. Nothing a piece of wood wouldn't fix though
Get your mallets ready!
I suggest every sunday afternoon at 1. - central/east
