1:30, as in early Sunday morning? If you're looking at the London forecast I'm hoping we can outrun all that.

Scott, since no-one's meeting at Greenwich, I could be around London Bridge for 6.15 6.30ish. And then I'm heading up to Bethnal Green. Would that help you out?

Wimp.

See you later.

When I was woken up by the hammering rain at 3am I seriously thought of you chaps.
Hope all went well !
-
• #287
jeez hadn't thought of that.. Pretty scary to ride in that rain. Hopefully by now you're all swimming at the beach!
-
• #288
that was fun (in the end) rode with 3 geared riders, lots of stops, last orders at a pub, 5 punctures though not for me.
we left really late so were always passing people, the rain was a bit mental riding on the wheel in front and not being able to see anything.
the last part without the rain was ace having the whole road to yourself with not a car in sight.
saw a few of you out there hopefully your knees don't hurt as much as mine. -
• #289
just got back myself, have had a hot bath to try and soothe my knees, aching like a mothafucka.
Hard work riding in the night and the rain made harder by the fact that my glasses were creating trippy kaleidoscopic visuals from all the flahing red lights down those dark roads. Found the second half a lot easier than the first, almost gave up at the feeding station but the desire to finish prevailed and am well glad I did. Awesome ride!Alex, hope you got back safe, how's the back?

just got home, had my stretches and I'm just about to have a shower.
The rain was just stopping as I got to the feeding station, and that was the worst of it. Tip for next year, forget the food because there were big queues for a cup of soup and a roll (even though it was welcome). Next time I'll take an army ration pack, and just hydrate it with the hot water they put out for the tea and coffee, where there was hardly any queue.
it was a beautiful morning. No sunrise, but the sky just got lighter and clearer. At the 80 mile point, I was with Scott, and we realised with just 36 miles to go, we were actually going to make to make it.
Got in to Dunwich at 9:12, and I feel a great sense of acheivement. I'm glad I rode fixed. If I do it next year, I'll do it fixed as well, but maybe I'll try and get some more training in. Got home at 5.30 - exactly 24 hours after I left.
Good to see you all, and nice riding with you.
And a final image to put you off your dinner - my white pants are red. I chafed myself stupid, and I"m going to be very uncomfortable.

I went to Dulwich and waited and waited, you bastards never showed up...

That was truly epic.
Conditions not ideal to say the least, but the memory of tearing through the rain in the pitch black following the hypnotic flashing red lights ahead in the distance is one that will last a long time.
I'm totally exhausted, and damn glad I took the next few days off work!
Pleasure to see/meet/ride with everyone, brilliant experience all round. Apart from them nearly losing our bikes. -

MrSmith i borrowed some chamois cream. bit weird when you apply it but it works.
I would normally have slathered myself in Bodyglide - but I forgot.

Respect to anyone who started that ride.
It was the most cnuting ride I've had this year. Totally my own fault for fscking around so much with my bike. Lots of unnecessary pain. God damn did I want to chuck it in!!! Arrrgh!!!
Rode different bits with different people and some bits alone. The first half involved stopping every 30min to stretch and try in vain to snap my spine in half in the hope of receiving medical assistance.
Bike was clean and now it's covered in sh!te. I still had juice to ride hard home which is a good sign although I look like a zombie with dark, evil bags under my eyes.
I might get a more detailed report done later. Nice to meet more of yaz! -

Massive respect for those that completed the Dynamo in those conditions....much joviality was had at Rollapaluza along the lines of "thank gow we're not riding to Dunwich" as we watched it tip down outside.....hoho
Well done you guys, anyone have warm enough fingers to take pictures?
-
• #299
