possibly. i admit i do :P
but i'd rather not reek of it.
-
• #28
actually no, they don't get sweaty, good ventilation I suppose..
certainly less sweaty than the full finger mtb gloves I usually wear
-
• #29
I hear from a mate who has the rapha grand tour gloves that they are not sweaty at all - in fact leat your hands breathe better. They look the schizniz in white leather....damn!
-
• #30
I've got the Rapha Grand Tour gloves in white - yes yes more money than sense ;-) They do look really nice but the knuckle holes are in the wrong place...well for my hands anyway. As for sweating...theyre not bad, certainly no worse than some of the thin mtb gloves i've got.
They do stretch a lot though...if anyone is considering getting them get the smallest size you can squeeze your hands into...the leather is so soft that they soon become baggy. Oh...and the white ones get dirty real fast.

Thanks for the tip. Very useful. Will make sure i get a small pair when i make the plunge. What bike do you ride JimmyP ?
-
• #32
I ride an On one Pomp Pro.

• #33
Nice.... colour?...
-
• #34
They only come in one colour ;-) - "Trigger's mums bathroom" blue and black. I've replaced the drops with Easton Delta Force Attack bars and its rocking Mitchelin Pro Race II tyres in matching blue. Stem, Seat post and saddle have been swapped out for something lighter. Its a nice bike - though you probably love or hate the styling - responsive and pretty light. I'd like something a bit more simple though...there's plenty going on with a pomp - rack mounts, bottle cage mounts, cantilever break mounts front and rear. But the geometry is reasonably relaxed for longer distances - well thats what I am telling myself, I'm riding the etape anglais on it next weekend :-)

theyre not old skool styled but the new giro mitts look really well made.

-
• #37
will you also have a jersey for me.

Castelli for me. they just seem to fit well.
I use the ProGels, but as the name suggests, these have gel padding. the Logo's are less padded.
http://www.parker-international.co.uk/9474/Castelli-Logo-Gloves.htmlFor retro goodness prendas has loads of cheap mitts (from £5).

Specifically, these ones. I've had 'em for ages, love them for the soft leather grips and great padding, and not for the massive gaping hole (sry for any disturbing images) that's emerged in the thumb of the right one.
I have no recollection of where I bought them (not online - I've tried looking through email receipts) but it was definitely in London. Would love to get another pair, but don't even know what the model is called. Uncle Google has been naff all help
Anyone have these lying around the house to help me out? I'm a size Large if you want to flog them off

Least successful thread posting ever.
Better get that needle and thread out, then

I've seen worse. At least the OP was actual sense.

these are my favourite mitts. Sadly, they don't seem to make them anymore. Think they were simply called Elite Mitts or something... Pittard Leather too, whatever that means.
-
• #44
Got them! These are they: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pearl-izumi/pittards-carbon-leather-mitts-ec011194 although lowpug you're right, they don't seem to sell them any more
More flimsy-looking 2012 version here: http://www.pearlizumi.com/publish/content/pi_2010/eu/en/index/products/men/ride/accessories/0.-productCode-14141202.html

New Grippp Tour mittens; had to stitch one seam after the first outing, and a different seam after the second outing; not impressed; should have bought Castelli!
-
• #46
Grippp mitts are my favourite gloves. I have two pairs of mitts and a full finger set. They are without a doubt the best non-weather-specific gloves I've used...
-
• #47
You're giving me hope; I have done two sets of running repairs, so I am persevering...
-

Return them.
