I can make it.
kipsy? Mr Smith? Still up for it.
Anyone else come on boys and girls! I'll Whisper anyone my mobile if you think you may run a little late as I am sure we can hang around for 10 min if some gets held up and worried about just missing us leave. -
• #28
in theory i'm up for it, in practice can't make it.
you have a nice headwind on the way back :-)
-
• #29
sorry guys, I'm gonna be locked to my desk for the duration.....keep an eye out for me on your return route:-
Sorry looking Langster 06 with a mudcatcher on the back. And a freewheel. -
• #30
So if its just Brick and velocity boy and (maybe me)... anychance of doing it tomorrow instead?
-
• #31
I might be able to... dentist at 5pm, and it really depends on how much they drill me and how shaken I am by the experience (I fear dentists, especially dentists who play Wet Wet Wet in the background).

Brick... you still on for tonight? Want to do the ride or skip it and drink, or even skip it?
I'm cool for doing it, but if you don't want to then I'm cool for popping to Sainsburys and buying some groceries too.
So, those who are skipping... you still thinking of doing the London to Brighton on Sunday? The point of this ride was to test readiness for that for those who were concerned about distance.
-
• #33
Yeah i still want to do sunday, and i still would like to do this ride to test how im doing as well. But would rather go to this gig tonight and just go and sunday and hope i can make it ;) Unless anyone else is up for Thursday night.

I would quite like a ride we could do a truncated trip. I can't do thursday as I am meeting my landlord to pay the rent (sounds dodgy but it's not honist!). What time and where is your gig rkn? If it starts at say 08:00 we could do a slightly diffrent route which ends / passes by. If it's a rock gig everyone is sweaty anyway.
edit: I am mean 20:00 not 08:00

Gig doors at 7 in camden, so yeah dont need to get there till like 8:30. Would be up for something shorter if poss so I can make that!
-
• #36
Sure... short ride it is then.
I can fit in Sainsburys afterwards then. Everyone is happy.
We'll make up a route... who needs it to be precise ;)
What time can you guys be at the band stand? I should be good for 6pm.
-
• #37
Ah the sudo random walk! I have used this method of riding before.
Six should be all good.

• #38
Reminds me of this:
Second favourite comic strip of all time that is, behind Calvin & Hobbes.
-
• #39
yeah 6 is fine.... bandstand.
-
• #40
Does that comic strip come from a linux website, or is it ment to the normal sence like "kind of" as in sudo random number genorator.
Sorry the geek in me looks at jokes too much some times. (crys into his keyboard) -
• #41
It's pretty geek. Sometimes it strays into physics and math jokes. I like it for that.
-
• #42
That ride was good fun.
I do not recommend going anywhere near Hyde Park at dusk this week. Bloody mayflys everywhere. Ate many of the bastards.
-
• #43
How'd it go? Good turnout?
-
• #44
Three of us. TheBrick, rkn and myself.
We shot down to Greenwich, had a drink, shot back into town. We cut it short enough for rkn to get to his gig. And then went our own direction.
Quite a nice evening really, should do it more often.

Just three of velocity boy, rkn and myself. Hyde park was bug city as David said. Hydepark -> Bethnal green -> Lime House link -> some piising about my the river -> Greenwhich via tunnel -> pub -> back through tunnel and we split up at bank. So not quite 40 mile but a quick play on ggole maps gives anestiamte of 16 miles. Felt further to me though as David flys along compared to me.
-
• #46
heh, I thought I was going slow to make sure we didn't split up. Flying along was what I did when we parted.
It's just the gear I suppose. And now I've got used to it and purr along I'm thinking of changing it to 47x15 for a little more oompf. I'll regret that on the days I feel like shit though.

No it's the legs. I did a few mbt races when I was about 16 and came consistanly in the bottom 5. Slow but happy.

" Hydepark -> Bethnal green -> Lime House link -> some piising about my the river -> Greenwhich via tunnel -> pub ->"
that'll be why I didnt see you'all on your return from Hampton Court!
I did a couple of laps round Richmond Park in the sunshine and an unseasonable NE wind that was evil comin down Broomfield hill.velocity boy said "It will be a "no-one left behind" ride".....
Brick said "David flys along compared to me" .......
I'm with you Brick. -
• #49
Well, I didn't leave anyone behind ;)
I was looking all the time, and if I saw I was breaking free I just slowed up until they caught up.

I'll be there.
