  • so many! don't want to take my bike anywhere now!

Just check back through the thread and count how many say "it was locked with two d-locks through the frame and wheels".

  • Mate just had a Bianchi green coloured Raliegh stolen in Hackney. No pic I'm afraid. It has drop bars with drop levers and one x top lever fitted, no decals...

the one I posted earlier, which has been removed had a sort of celeste green paint job, looks like rattle can or powder coat, and a raleigh headbadge. the guy selling it has other bikes so is contactable if it is yours.. has my bars and saddle on so Id be interested in forming a hit squad if you fancy it. the cycle task force haven't got back to me...

  • Shit, seems MrKawaski has had his joust stolen from his van, I'm assuming Chorlton area of Manchester, so probably not loads of help to post here, but you never know, everymanc keep an eye out.
Looks like this but with a few different parts, red stem maybe?

  • His ride partner couldn't catch up to a kid riding in trainers?

  • The ride partner didn't want someone stealing his carrot cake.

  • Maybe he wanted to finish his cappuccino before giving chase

  • This is the bike in question.

Maybe ditch one of the bottles and bring a lock next time?

PS. I love how the newspaper has cropped the bike and left its owner, when obviously, no offence intended to Austin Reynolds, the bike is much more interesting!

  • My beloved pashley, also known as 'Roxy Blue' was stolen outside Guys campus, London Bridge last night.

The bike was locked to a set of railings with kryptonite D-lock through the part of the frame that connects the seat post to the back wheel. The lock was still stuck to the railings undamaged, so I've suspect that they had enough time/ tools on them to unscrew the frame.

Please keep your eyes out for her!

  • There may well be an increase in bikes nicked from the London Bridge area soon as the bike park at OYB will close in November. I have secure parking at my employers but I'm wondering if I should upgrade the lock and start using the fahg.

  • Things between SE1 and SE8 aren't looking too clever anyway at the moment. Seems to be a lot of theft South East.

  • Saw two yoots selling a blatantly stolen Specialized to an Italian guy outside West Norwood train station yesterday. I asked him about his purchase and he seemed to think that 20 quid was a fair price for something in not great condition. Advised him he may be in deep do-do if the pop po ever stop him and find out its nicked. He said he didn't know that people stole bikes as he came from East London...
    ...
    Oh how I laughed...

  • The last man in England to use the word 'Vagabond'.

  • I doubt the insurance would pay up if he have the same approach to them as he did to the lock.

  • His ride partner couldn't catch up to a kid riding in trainers?

part of the lance armstrong doping scandal !
all levels of society are at it !

  • Look the man has just had a £9,000 bike stolen, it's super rare and he's devastated. A cyclist, maybe not like us but a cyclist nonetheless.

....And yet I'm finding it difficult to drum up much sympathy for him really at all.

  • I'm off to Brick Lane......... In other news, I should have a new classified add in a few hours, eyes peeled Ladies and Gents, eyes peeled....

  • specialised ?

  • frame and forks only ? and a da e-shift gruppo in 2nd thread ?

  • .......probably a little early to split, is that dibs??

  • If I paid £9K for a bike. It would have to have at least some red in there and possibly yellow. It looks a little low key for that much cash

  • Er, he left it unlocked?

Thanks for all the advice on not leaving an expensive bike unattended. But just to clear that issue up, he was outside with it and just couldn't catch up with said thief in cleats...

Admittedly he wasn't sat on it, but also wasn't inside with the bike outside.
    .

The youngster out-ran Mr Reynolds’ riding partner.
    Trying not to lol.
