Anyone missing a red No Logo bike? Saw this for sale on Railton Road in Brixton - was a bit suspicious.
What's the deal with that flat/house on Railton? There's always bikes outside...

Are you talking about Sam the Wheels' house just up the road from the newsagent that used to sell Weed? He repairs bikes and makes wheels. Defo not stolen (at least not by him). He does lots of stuff for the community as well.A great guy...

Yeah that sounds like the one - glad my suspicions seem to be unfounded!

Yeah, always tonnes of bikes in varying states of repair. He used to have a hand painted sign out there. he actually does lots of work with the guy who runs the bicycle building scheme in Brockwell park for the kids in the community. I've heard he's pretty damned good at his wheels as well

Posting this on behalf of a good friend, who lost his steed on saturday night!
**THIS MIGHT STILL HAVE THE LOCK ON!!! PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED GUYS, AND DROP ME A PM IF YOU SEE/FIND IT! **
"Had my bike stolen in Healey St, Kentish town on Sat 12th may at around 11:00pm. It was double locked to a 10ft post with a D lock, cable through both wheels and another cable lock through the helmet. They removed the road sign on the top of the post and must have slipped the bike off the top - all with in a 10-15 minute window.
The bike was a white Charge Tap 2010 hybrid with 8-speed Nexus hub gears, small frame size. Modified from the 'as bought' image in the following ways.
black SKS Chromoplastic 'guards, front and rear,
a new 150mm silver 'forge ahead' stem,
Schwalbe marathon plus tyre on the front wheel (reflective rim around this),
Water bottle holder, light holders on the bar and seat post and spoke reflectors (all easily removable of course...)Distinctive scuffs etc - the gear changer viewing window bit was scuffed due to turning the bike upside down for maintenance etc. There are some black horizontal scuffs on the top tube, probably from leaning against railings, and some scuffs on the back of the saddle (charge spoon) from when I got knocked off.
The bike was only purchased in December, so it's in pretty good nick. If anyone sees anything like this (I've only ever seen one other white Tap around london) being sold anywhere I would very much appreciate any info you have. I really liked that bike and it might be fairly hard to replace, given it's an old model etc. It's been reported to the police.
Many thanks
Rhod"

Grumble.NotInsured.StillPayingOff.Grumble.
Stolen between 12pm and 4pm today from E5.
Locked up to one of the mounted steel bike stands inside the building in the photo, behind a double-locked front door. Also the mini-D on display locked the frame to the wheel.
Apparently a neighbour caught a guy snooping around the back this morning who ran off when he clocked him.
The thing that annoys me most is that I still had my tent poles fixed to the top-tube. Shower. Of. Cunts.
Pretty much as it appears in the photo, sans racks/panniers + powerade + gps and such.
Model: Jamis Aurora 2011 Elite. Metallicy bronze paint job. Slightly warped Brooks saddle.
Reported to the police, but if anyone in the area spotted it...

That's really sad, good luck with trying to get it back. Out of curiosity, what was it locked to the stand with, if wheel to frame was with a mini-evo?

As it's locked indoors, I rarely go all out - so just this unfortunately.
Clearly I didn't learn my lesson from two years ago when I had a Mercian and a Charge Plug stolen from the same spot using the same locks. Also uninsured.

Wow, haven't heard of people getting through New Yorks. That's what I've got :(
How did they do it do you have any idea? Was there a cut lock around or anything? I was under the impression that you basically needed an angle grinder to get through one.

That's weird. I copied and pasted another Krypto but the New York appeared.
It was the mini-7 with the cable. (Will delete the image from the previous post so as not to unduly concern other NY users!)
I only have one seriously heavy duty chain which I have with my Penguin (hiding in my bedroom).

Oh, that's a bit of a relief. I feel bad for saying that when you've just had your bike stolen though. I fucking hate that bike theft seems to be so low down on the police priorities. I'll keep a look out for your bike, I don't suppose there are many like it around.
If it's happened before, out of sight in a locked building, do you suspect a neighbour?

Just had my SE Bikes 'PK Fixed' stolen off the train between Hemel Hempstead and Euston whilst i sat about 2 metres away!
It's very easily recognisable:
Black DC x SE Frame and Black Deep V's
Gold Odyssey BMX stem
Gold Primo BMX pedals with straps
Sugino x Condor Crank
Black Rolls SaddleIf you see it for sale around it would be awesome if you could let me know: contact me at terrorshoe@hotmail.com, cheers.

That's some shit luck. I get really paranoid when I take mine on a train and never sit more than a carriage away while checking at every stop there's no funny business going on. But you don't need to hear that - check with staff about footage, both on the train and station platforms. Maybe you can identify which station it was stolen at.

Have you got any pics of it?

pictures and any unique things like scratches in certain places etc would definitely help.
i keep my bike company and normally sit on the floor next to it. -

Hi All,
My bike was stolen this morning from the bike racks outside Wandsworth Virgin Active. I know I'm probably not going to see it again but please can you all keep an eye out for a white 2010 Trek 1.5 Alpha. It has a white seat, white handle bar tape, 2 white water bottle cages and white shimano spd pedals.
For anyone using this gym don't fall foul of the same fate, I have found out that the gym has cycle racks inside the rear entrance which are much more secure (It's a shame I didn't know they existed!)
I'll dig out a photo to add to my post.
I'm just so pissed off with these thieving bastards. I was supposed to be doing a triathlon next weekend and had a cycle trip to the Isle of Wight planned and it was uninsured. . . . Bugger!

Nick, I used to in Wandsworth. I had my merckx nicked and managed to funds, out again at the Sunday jumble sale in old Covent garden (vauxhall). there is also a garage that doubles as a second hand Bike 'shop' down towards Southfielday- I think at the first roundabout after king Georges park. Try both of those...
^ If that was mine I'd want it stolen. And never, ever returned.
