OK...so this morning...a courier looking type offered a pair of wheels to my courier friend on Redchurch St.
My mate thought he was a courier but hadn't seen this guy before. He was dressed as one though.
I don't have full details yet.Knowing it was dodgy, my mate then thought it would be a good idea to take the wheels and 'offer to pay later'.
He suspected they were nicked and we'd find the owner.
The guy actually said 'ok'!!! But wouldn't give his number and asked for my mates. He gave him his mobile. The thief said he'd call later....still waiting. He was just desperate to pass them on I guess. My mate brought the wheels up to us and said "know anyone who's lost some wheels!"
I had my eye on the forum waiting for some answers. Good to see tristoo decided to post. Otherise...there'd be no answers and we'd have a pair of nicked wheels sat around. Power of the internet!
We're hoping this dude calls so we can meet him with his 'payment'! I'll let you know...

Oh my god what a cupid stunt. I hope you've taken the afternoon off so you can wait behind a filing cabinet at the courier co's office with a baseball bat.

Pistanator You what? BLB is famous for moody gear. Where do you think they get all their 'second hand' bits from?
Seems like that exactly what this pratt tried to do, if he was hanging about on redchurch st. Perhaps BLB weren't so keen though, which is what I would expect from them...

Fucking ace. When bikes bite back.

Of course...I saw tristoo's post before I got to ask on here who's they were.
I don't think the guy was on a bike but looked like he was doing a courier job and looked like he might've had his bike locked up somewhere. Thieves who dress like couriers or dodgy couriers?!? I'm shocked and my mate is obviously concerned that the 'courier' code of conduct could've been broken.I still don't have the full story but will get a better description and there's a possibility we can talk/meet with him!

glad you got your wheels back tristoo, there seem to be a few lfgss users who have had stolen stuff returned recently which is a good thing.. I don't really think that violence (there's no justice like angry mob justice) will solve anything at all (i'm sure many of you disagree) but I do think that if you see this guy then perhaps get a pic of him and have an internet/poster campaign just so that people are aware he is a known bike thief - ie do not buy stuff off him call the police etc.

My bike's left in an underground car park with swipe card access and security patrols hourly and I still lock it like it was on Brick Lane under a neon flashing sign saying "steal me". Mini NY Faghedablahblah and Mini Evolution*. Assume the worst then overcompensate.
The 10% rule on locks vs bike cost is a very sensible one i think.*£73 total inc postage from Cyclexpress. Recommended.

what a dumb wanker, lucky for you tho. i saw a guy "dressed" as a courier trying to sell a condor pista a few years ago on brick lane. i'd never seen him before and the bike looked a bit familiar. i tipped the police off around the corner and i last saw him getting walked to the nick about 30min later.

Dressed like a courier could be half of London (guess which half :P). Good to hear you got your wheels back. ID the guy if you can.

lots of courriers are carck heads that work the job beacue they can turn up once a week make 15 quid and go buy a rock.
-
• #545
All couriers are carck heads, didn't you all know?
-
• #546
I prefer a high paying office job so I can buy the carck and a bunch of hookres and have a boardrom all to ourselves..
-
• #547
so you can share them with couriers?
-
• #548
I know some couriers that can sell you some hahs and sknuk to help you come back to earth if you like.
-
• #549
Great story, pleased you've got em back. I say if anyone feels like smacking the cunt they have every right too

Rapsac I know some couriers that can sell you some hahs and sknuk to help you come back to earth if you like.
Nah, I like to stay hihg.. a few lnies of coek, some spdee and dabbing the amdm. Oh waht a feelngi!
Turns out a dodgy courier pinched my wheels and tried to flog them off to another (well known) courier, who didn't want them as they were obviously hot as a pancake.
Then, even though he didn't get any cash for them he left them at a company right round the corner from where they got stolen and said he'd be back for them.
Maybe I should wait for him with a jam jar of acid, throw it in his face....then steal his wheels
