it’s my mates bike. He went for a ride around March 2016, stopped at some lights, a guy approached him and took it while wielding a knife. We tried to look for it for a year, but nothing. The years went by. Kinda forgot about it, life episodes n stuff.
Found it on eBay last week in a bicycle shop, bicycle shop is 0.5 miles from where it was stolen. Went to the shop. It was the shop owners bike. He told us he got it from a guy who lives in Italy but regularly visits Birmingham. The Italian rides with a cycling club here in bham and was told that the bike belonged to the club before they sold it to him, which he then sold to the bike shop guy. Apparently it went all over Italy. Crazy. Either way we got it now. Luckily I had a fair few photos that were dated. The shop owner wanted the bike serial code number first but we had lost it. It was a distinct bike cause it’s a rawed 2015 vig with a leggera fork not the original vigorelli fork. My mates so happy and so am I! -

My friend's lovely Genesis Day One was stolen Monday 8th November from outside their house in a residential street in Lower Clapton / Clapton Pond.
It's the little less usual Alfine internal hub-gear version, so if you see it holla at me!

Seem to remember a Condor Track bike veryyyy similar to this one being posted on here a while back (will try and track down the post and get in touch with the OP) - no real item description and general 'eh, whatever' price is a bit of a red flag

Hi guys and gals, my friend just got his Brompton stolen just outside UCL library near Warren Street. It was a flame lacquer Brompton black edition with orange Ergon grips and Schwalbe Ones in tan wall. It was practically brand new and whoever took it knew what they were looking for... if any of y'all good people see her rolling around drop me a line^^

Stolen Hackney Bridge/Wick on Sunday November 7th.
Hi all, I was informed of this forum by a bike repair shop when I was telling them about my stolen bike, so thought I would give it a shot, the police have closed the case but it was caught on CCTV. I built up my first ever bike during the Lockdown last year in the hope of doing some bike-packing and riding "gravel" stuff, sorry it's not a fixed gear ethos! So it was a bit disappointing that it was taken after all the work.
I had recently moved into a new block with "secure" bike storage, this one had the exit opening out onto the street with the electro magnetic door type. I was interested to see the conversation regarding that setup on here as I really hadn't given it two thoughts about how secure it is in reality.
Two guys on a moped (I find it hard to believe how moped theives always get away with not being traced!) got in (maybe with the magnet trick) and cut through my lock with a grinder and left with only my bike. Prior to that they were riding on the pavement nearby obviously looking for vulnerable bikes.
I've been checking e-bay and gumtree and visited Brick Lane last Sunday but I don't think people sell bikes there any more. Another person told me to check the Cash Converters shops in Leyton, but haven't been there yet.About the Bike:

Had my black edition Brompton nicked from inside Zara Sloane Square. All black, with a Fizik saddle and stock dynamo lights. Has an inner tube in cling film tucked inside the top tube. Reported etc but if anyone sees a dodgy ad or whatever then please shout.

Small (49cm) turquoise gazelle champion mondial stolen outside Rushmore Primary school in E5. The frame was quite beaten up and I suspect someone probably cut through it and destroyed it to get the parts as the lock was where it had been left undamaged, so not hopeful it'll be recovered, but would be happy to see any of it turn up. Much sentimental value :(

That's shit. I think your suspicion as to the method of theft is probably correct, sadly. :(

Saw this little cluster locked at the entrance to Cockpit Yard WC1 yesterday evening. Looked weird, could be innocent.

Please look out for friends stolen Trek and Liv Hybrid.
Stolen from a communal lock-up* near Westferry. Sometime between Thursday night and Friday midday.
*In before Oliver, yes they are well known to be vulnerable to theft but sometimes there’s no other choice if you’re in a small flat.

Like I'd blame the victims. It's planning rules that need changing. Landlords need to improve security and put in place good management régimes for existing facilities.

We're the bikes insured?
The security door got kicked in and the lock was cut by what I can deduce with a hand held angle grinder hence I do concur with +Oliver Schick
You're paying service charge so why don't demand for better service?
Got back the cinelli vig!
Stolen in 2016 and finally back in 2021
A success story, never lose hope!
