mid blue liv hybrid womens bike stolen today at 2-4pm from 51 shoreditch high street outside pizza east/tea building.
if anyone has any tips on getting it back and what to do I'd be so grateful! have reported to met police and cycle unit email, but not holding out much hope. any other forums? tried bike shephard but forum error.
quite annoying as it was locked with 2 locks and it's my only transport at the moment during covid times and cant afford to replace it as im a student. luckily i do have some time on my hands to track online!
thanks!
(50 quid reward as it's my sisters bike and havent told her yet- oops!)

Hi all,
what are the general approaches people take when they see a stolen bike being sold online?
Thanks

For me it depends on if it’s your own, someone close, or just someone you know.

Hi Everyone,
Had my 2016 Blue Specialised Langster street stolen last night (22 August) from Roman Road E3 5LX, London. It has dent on the top of frame from where I crashed. Almost brand new Continental Grand Prix 4 Season tyres.
Appreciate if you could post here if anyone see's it. Bit of long shot. but I love that bike!
Cheers,

Had to stop 4 scrotes stealing a Brompton parked outside Vinegar Yard (London Bridge) yesterday evening. Had some basic tools, four 16 year olds by the looks of it, the one doing the deed wearing day glo and a helmet.
I asked him if it was his bike, and if so just get the key out and undo the lock. If not, fuck off. 2 other members of the public then came and one started filming, and they left.
Not sure what else I could have/should have done?

Just had my old dirty orange Roadrunner Stem bag stolen while I popped in to work in Shoreditch. Unlikely but if anyone sees one for sale please let me know.
Can’t believe someone nicked it, was a mess!

I had a spoke card stolen once, they'll take anything!

I'd just come here to put the same thing.
That's a new way of opening them up. I've seen the locks having been forced, one open after having been driven into, and others just left open, but this is the first time I've seen one opened like a can of beans

They’ve been peeling the sides off these around Waltham Forest for a while now - https://www.lfgss.com/comments/15239056/ was how a friend lost their bike. The bike hangar people put a new bit on surrounding the locking mechanism on my hangar, but I guess they’d have to fully reclad the hangar if they wanted to stop this particular attack.

That is an older one.
The newer hangars have a laser cut not mesh end, more cut resistant.

I ran past two different types tonight, one had a solid sheet with circles drilled in it, and the more traditional grid one.
I think a load of the locks have been upgraded, so I wonder which version they're up to now.
I'll have a look tomorrow at the different types. Yes, I am lacking a little direction in life at the moment.
