Hmm, has he asked Elaine the flower lady? She's there all day; or the bloke who begs just by the piano? Councillor Gym Dickson might be worth chasing on twitter too.

Serious question, what are you guys locking all these lovely bikes with for them to be stolen so easily? I know a cordless angle grinder will take a D lock off in under 30 seconds but that would probably be enough to deter the casual thieves with a pair of bolt cutters...

I fancy one of these... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH1dCtyMW6w

There was video of on of these getting broken pretty quickly on YouTube but it's been taken down for defamation... 🤔🤔🤔
-
• #13906
Hmm go figure...
-
• #13908
Thanks pal. I've let him know to ask around.
To what end is it useful contacting the councillor?
-
• #13909
These come sold gold secure aswell lol
-
• #13910
I mean, to be fair, a D-lock only stands up to an angle grinder for tens of seconds as well. But at least it's more than 2 seconds.
-
• #13911
But the fact they're saying that they're unbreakable, with every other tool, but forget about this one is pretty shitty, I know for a fact that a lock will be cut if someone wants it that bad, that's what I say to everyone I sell a lock to. But come on Litelock, don't be a shitehawke
-
• #13912
Oh yes, the marketing is pretty disgraceful - showing a "thief" trying to get through it with a hacksaw... lol, no. And the fact that they clearly have taken down videos of it being broken through "defamation" claims.
Couple more ↓
This guy cuts it with an angle grinder in 14 sec

Not sure what to make of this one...

Watched the 3rd video via us youtube proxy, appears to show someone putting a short bar in the lock and twisting for it to pop open(as the guy in your first video suspects with the weak bits).
-
• #13914
Yes there was video of Litelock fail by twisting/prying in seconds, the bond between locking clasp and cables is absolute crap, simply crimped or something like that

My sisters Mamachari Angelino was stolen from Albion drive, Haggerston, its quite an unusual bike, but its also how she transports her two kids to school, nursery or anywhere too far to walk, all her pictures of the bike are mostly of the kids, but if anyone sees a green version of this for sale please let me know.

Hmm that sucks. You'd thing certain types of bikes would be immune.
Stolen from a communal hallway?
-
• #13918
unfortunately my sister lives in a world of hopes and dreams and it was locked on the railings outside the building she lives in. its been there for 3 years so must have been fairly immune, but the luck ran out eventually.
in fairness the sproglets are beginning to get a bit too big and its probably time to get something a bit bigger and more stable..

If you have left your white Genesis CdF locked outside a SE pub overnight, you might wanna check on it. Currently missing saddle and post, rear brake and bar, stem and shifters.

Saw this outside the round church on Lower Clapton Rd - fairly obvious it's nicked? What should you do in a situation like this? Report the number to the police?

If anyone is offered an all black Chub rear hub laced with silver spokes to a 50mm carbon rim, it's most probably the rear wheel stolen from my Orlowski in Shepherds Bush on Friday night.
It had rounded steel bolts with hexlox in, and every other component had hexlox in too...but sadly they still got the rear wheel out. :( -
• #13922
Bad luck, doesn't fill me with confidence in my new hexlox set...
Have you contacted the company? -
• #13923
This filled me with momentary horror. All of my nightmares are about bike theft.
(Also. Brutal.)
-
• #13924
Well every single other component was still there, so I wouldn't worry too much, and this bike is outside all day, 5 days a week with 7 months of being hexloxed. Just one of those things I guess.

I was thinking of taking a photo and naming the location but decided against it.
Haven't passed by since Saturday but might have a look tonight.
Right outside the station, locked up but not very well I think
