  • What kind of lock?

  • Personal experience?

  • So stupid, I should've sat on it all afternoon to work, much safer! Orko42 nope, for some reason they've only got cameras on one set of racks, I didn't think when I locked it up to check. Wouldn't seem an easy bike to sell on, even if split up. Anyone know how long it usually takes before stuff starts appearing on the bay/Craigslist/Gumtree?

Can be really fast. Also message planetx on facebook, have seen them put up stolen bike searches for customers in the past.

  • Clockwise, cheers will do

  • How did you lock it? If only through the frame it would be worth someone cutting through the frame for the parts. Guess you might see carbon remains on the floor there though.

Oh wait, then the lock would still be there, I guess

  • Through front&frame and back&frame. That thing was locked down

  • Abus&OnGuard.

    Through front&frame and back&frame.

What model of Abus and OnGuard?

  • Just stolen

Hi, just had my bike stolen outside Swiss Cottage Library in Camden, north London.

    During the day time?

  • josh11 yeah, around 3 I guess. Plenty of people around I'd imagine. Cheers TheCatsFlap

  • worth checking this site regularly too http://www.bikeshd.co.uk/

cables? doesn't look like D's could go round that frame and wheelset..

  • D's, its a knack I've had to develop thanks to the rims. Off to brick lane on Saturday, worth a try. Or are Sundays better?

  • Abus&OnGuard. Shit times indeed. Anyone know how to swing a good right hook if I see them pedalling around?

Hold a clipper lighter in the palm of your fist.

  • So 2 different D-locks and both cut through and lifted off with bike?

Thats bad news mate. what model locks did you use?

  • Not sure about the Abu's but the On Guard was An old Bulldog by the looks of things. And from what I've seen on other threads, things tend to get shifted in Brick Lane market day after..? Anyone know if its worth going down a week later on Sunday/Saturday? Or if anyone's got experience getting their bike back there

Came here to post that. The 'durace' shifters he's selling look pretty hot as well.

  • Am bikeless once more - my shed turns out to be more vulnerable than I'd hoped

If anyone sees a light blue Surly Cross Check doing the rounds (neither FG nor SS, so I beg your indulgence on that) please drop me a PM

It's mostly stock parts - plus an unusual reddish-brown leather saddle (Selle Monte Grappa), black bar tape and mudguards (front and rear) and a week-old London Classic sticker proudly displayed on the down tube ...

  • Posting for a mate:

This Cube GTC Agree was stolen right outside my house on Sunday the 13th of April. This picture is about 3 years old, but not much has changed since I got it. Notable features:

    • 56cm frame
    • Pro+ powertap rear wheel
    • Ultegra groupset
    • Cube GTC Agree frame
    • White bartape when stolen
    • Mount for garmin edge on stem
    • Only front bottle cage mounted when stolen

In addition the following items were mounted after this picture was taken:
    • Straight clip on Tri-bars with white bartape
    • -45deg stem

Please contact me on 07918020733 if you see it.

  • That's a lot of quality hardware to go walkies.

  • Yeah, needless to say, he is pretty devastated.

  • I've just been contacted by the Met's cycle taskforce, who have apprehended someone selling stolen Brooks saddles. They have 20 Brooks saddles they are trying to reunite with their former owners. They didn't have mine... I was the only one to have reported an Imperial stolen in the past two years. They had one Imperial, but it was standard width rather than the narrow that mine was, unfortunately.

  • Bobby Briggs - With reference to the stolen Books saddles.
While visiting the Brooks stand at the Bespoked cycle show last weekend the subject of saddles being stolen came up during our brief chat.
I got the impression they were trying to come up with a solution.
I have a brooks B17 saddle fitted to one of my bikes, although I don't leave my bikes unattended not quite sure what can be done to prevent the saddle from being removed. Other than removing the saddle yourself and taking it with you.
