  • Now how do we help get it back again?

  • I JUST PHONED THE BOY WHO'S SELLING IT - IT'S STILL AVAILABLE AND SOMEONE'S LOOKING AT IT THIS AFTERNOON.

I really hope you can get this back.

(Cut and paste of what I posted a little earlier in the ebay thread)

Saw this on Gumtree, seller is in Dalston - the style of the ad made me think the bike might be knicked... anyone missing this??

    Seller's number is 07908470371

  • Grit I don't know how to get hold of you. I've emailed you but don't know when you'll get that.

There's a post up above somewhere about a mobiles list in a private forum, i know nothing about that or that.

Fuck I wish I could call you right now...

EDIT: Found the link, left you a message.

  • Now how do we help get it back again?

    Isnt that simple?

Grit calls up as a inconspicuous punter and arranges to meet to purchase the bike with a fistful of cash.

A few people here go along with Grit (Id come if I was local) and give the seller a fistful of knuckles instead. Reclaim the bike, possibly see if he has some more too.

  • Isn't that the wrong colour?

  • Grit the photo this guy is using to sell your bike (if i's yours) is exactly the same as the one in your flickr account?

    I don't understand that.

  • Barring the worlds fastest re-spray I'd say it is, sadly.

  • Err yes, I thought we'd come to that conclusion during the week it's not hers, hers was yellow but the black one is DEFO nicked

  • ^^^ "Err yes, I thought we'd come to that conclusion..." ???

There's no need for that - I've just spent half an hour trying to sort this out and don't need your sarcasm Pistanator. It's not the first time either, coming from you.

The Gumtree post above, three days ago, has not been responded to by Grit, and so I've continued trying to sort this out (Grit I left you a text as well as a telephone message). Pistanator, please try and be nice.

  • I was trying to be sarcy at all. It's just plainly obvious that the bike in question is not Grits, read the thread and responses properly, not too difficult - as Roy Walker says "the clues are in the pictures"
Sorry if I came across as an arse but sterling work in your efforts all the same

  • Yes, you're right.

To be honest I just rushed through because I thought it was Grit's bike and just needed to act quickly.

Fuck I could have watched Eastenders on Sky+ if only I'd just looked properly in the first place.

  • So this doesn't belong to anyone here ????

  • Well it's not grits anyway

  • Grit the photo this guy is using to sell your bike (if i's yours) is exactly the same as the one in your flickr account?

    I don't understand that.

Grit has pictures of the yellow monoc in their account, but I think they recently saved the gumtree pics to their account aswell for some other unconnected reason. If you you scroll down in the flickr account you will see the yellow bike.

  • Should try Liverpool Gumtree.
    switches off iphone

  • Is it worth checking it for the frame number?

  • it is a different bike

  • i hope this black monoc wasn't mine
i'm not sure about either -
Still hope mine will turn up ...

It's great that you guys are there - really puts my hope up to find it
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND FOR GETTING IN TOUCH!
(silly I wasn't easy to get in touch with those last days as I didn't have my mobil
and rare access to the internet...)

    keep the good vibes going!
    THX

Thank for that! and Thanks for acting quickly!
Still not sure if it was mine or not - ...
    I hope it wasn't

(bad luck i wasn't in london those last days
and not easy to get hold of ... silly...

very strange aswell that nobody was missing a black monoc
as you would! if yours would get lost...

  • it is a different bike

with the same seatpost, forks, cranks and bars...
and also if you look on other bikes the same guy is selling...always powdercoated black/white or suchlike.........so he has a cheap/quick means to paint them frames.......no???

  • hope you get your bike back mate

  • Mmmmm, the plot thickens?!

  • Calling a girl 'mate', fail

  • and a simple saddle change from another nicked bike is the easiest transformation as well as a simple black can job.

Kona Paddywagon. Price has fallen 30 quid overnight. Apparently he bought the 09 version. Dodgy as feck...
