i have the pedros trixie, no problems as yet. i had previously tightened using rotafix and hammer and screwdriver, when i got the trixie i used it to try and tighten lockring more and it wouldn't go anymore, so i guess it has tightened enough from skidding.
edit: the lockring part fits nicely around the cog and the hook is nice and sharp. the 15mm spanner is really useful as well, can fit the tool in a pocket. i was concerned the bottle opener would gouge your hand when applying pressure but it doesn't.

+1 to the pedros trixie, I love mine...
... but if you don't have a chainwhip or a lockring tool I think you may as well get the shimano.

SJS Cycles are selling the 3/32 Shimano tool for 19.99 compared with 29.99 for the 1/8 version.

The tried and trusted Shimano one is the best bet, every workshop i've been into has always used them.
