The link has to be hyperlinked for it to be found by the script that embeds the player.
So just putting in the link as text doesn't work... it has to be a clickable link, then the player can be put in.
And it matches known video site domains, so http://www.youtube.com was being matched, but uk.youtube.com wasn't.

re: the mobile theme. It seems now that when i log on from my phone it gives me a nice cut down text only view. It used to render the full site html...
-
• #63
Heh. I think that's likely to be because the .css is served dynamically now. A side effect rather than a feature.

Whats the youtube embedding script? Is it Vanilla specific?
-
• #65
Nah, it's a jQuery trick.
-
• #66
can you share it?

View the source of a threaded page, download the JavaScript file and have fun :)

just a couple of suggestions:
it would be nice if, on the discussions list page, it state when the discussion was started as well as who started it.
when you click on a multi-page discussion, it should link to the last page of the discussion rather than the first.
is that sort of thing customisable under the current system?
-

The latter happens already. Just find a discussion with enough posts to see it happen. There are 50 posts per page, so aim for one above that.
That first one, I'm not sure what the value in it is. And I prefer more spaciousness, if it's something that you can find at a click (by looking at the thread) then why not just do that?

It's not so much when the discussion was started that I tend to be interested in but whether itss a recently started discussion or an old one that's been resurrected. Maybe there's a way to indicate new threads using the background colour, similar to the way that threads with unread posts also have a different background colour?
-
• #71
From what I can tell, and I haven't looked into it that much, all resurrected posts from different pages reappear in the RSS feed when they migrate to the front. A different colour would be cool, or some sort of indicator as to which is new...

I'll add the Start Date after the Started By thing.
A little later ;)
dave why is it sometimes when a youtube video is posted it will have the actual video in the discussion and other times it will just have a link?
and when on the search tab the title of the discussion and the comment overlap each other...is that somthing that can be fixed?
sorry if its already been brought up
