Look out for traffic police on Tottenham ct rd catching rlj on the big junction after goodge st and the one way leading from gower st. Just seen a few cyclist pulled up while on my lunch.
-
• #383
They would be better served pulling people up for undertaking lorries and buses. Explaining to them the extreme dangers and then fining them
-

Always get caught at that junction, but only ever warnings.

Hmmm, I tried to post on the TFL website, where there is a discussion about red light jumping:
https://www.togetherforlondon.org/campaignBoard.php?campaign=118
I raised the point that being next to a bus / HGV that is pulling up on a junction often poses a threat (or at least feels like that) and if I have to jump a light or go far into the junction when it's red so that I can get a head start, rather than being overtaken by a dangerous vehicle, I will.
I mentioned a couple of examples of dangerous situations I have seen with HGVs and bendy busses (where I have seen accidents).
Also I said stated that I agree with JC's posts, and that Graham's statement " The fact that a law is mildly inconvenient is no reason to ignore it." is more a " The fact that a law is putting me in danger is a reason to disobey." situation.
Lastly I was expressing my hope that if we were all nice and smile more but get offended less, we could all get along, i.e. that when a ped crosses on a red light I expect them to do so and don't get angry about it, don't try to run them over automatiacally ...
In summary: An elaborate and hopefully productive contribution to the discussion, but not offensive towards anyone apart from maybe bendy bus drivers,
AND IT GOT BANNED! WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION HOW THE CONTENT WAS OFFENSIVE.
An email asking for an explanation did't get any reply.
So in all the liberty that THIS board gives: FUCK OFF TFL! STASI MANNERS REALLY HELP! JUST BECAUSE OPINIONS ARE INCONVINIENT DOESN"T MEAN THEY'RE NOT WORTH READING!

I pasted an excerpt of what I wrote above, with one sentence on top, altogether somehow like:
Tried to post soemthing before, but it got rejected.

Perhaps if TfL didn't keep closing Tube lines at weekends -the only time that I ever use them - we wouldn't need to jump red lights.
OK distinct failure of logic but I am really fed up with the Tube being out every single time I need to use it.
Memo to self. Buy a beater and find somewhere to keep it.

I have a £40 Dyno Moto7 for that very purpose- capable of being tied to railings with hairy string and still be there when you return three days later.
Yours for £60.

Now thats just dandy business sense right there. How much for the hairy string?

**I like this comment particularly: **
"I think that if cyclist are going to ride on the road then they should obey the traffic lights and stop when it turns red if there are persons at the traffic lights waiting to cross. It really annoys me when the light turns green and i cross the road (as a pedestrian) to then look to my left or right to see a cyclist bolting towards me and i am the type of person to get pedestrian rage if a cyclist rides into me. if the pedestrian crossing is clear then by all means cyclists ride on you are not going to get any tickets for running red lights. But it is precisely that rule that makes them think they can do it every time. Please let us all have some respect on the roads. (yeah right like thats gonna happen)"
He sets out the argument so clearly, I mean, I'd never understood the objection before!
Remember to breathe when reading it! -
