Therefore, what is allowed by legislation is not necessarily correct morally, which I feel was what kerley was arguing for.
I don't think that at all. But to me the balance is in favour of the law. How many things can you do which you find immoral yet are totally legal. I would guess not many?

I believe You can run a light for your own safety.
If it is clear the vehicle behind you is not going to stop in time and would hit you if you stopped you can then go through.
So the one time you actually stopped at a red light, you could legally have jumped it, didn't, and then got hit by a car....your logic is flawed.

Ah, we agree on this then. yes, morality is usually on the side of the law (but not always), so lets not assume they are both the same. Therefore driving past a school at 60 is always morally despicable (but running into the 90 y/o benefit thief is not).

The server seems to be really busy at the moment, I can only apologise and as soon as you let me know this is happening I'll do something about it.
Alternatively you can let me know at david@londonfgss.com
As for what to do, perhaps a cup of tea would help pass the time until it's all working again.
Server buckling under the volume of pedantry. Inflate lfgss fixie skidder lifejacket and bail!

We wont save the planet but by our actions wenhelp demonstrate that cyclists jumping red lights are actually not a great danger compared to cars that do so.
This could then help the ammemdment to the law.
That's idealistic bollocks. The effect it actually seems to have, is to reinforce negative stereotypes. If you're really jumping reds as part of a political campaign, it's probably about time you rethought your approach.

Oh is it when you've been waiting to turn right at a junction and the only way to do it is to wait untill the lights have changed to red?
-
• #1362
so is it when the only way you can turn right across a junction is waitng until the light is red?
-
• #1363
You can legally, turn right... on red..in some provinces in Canada. Also some states in the US too. Works brilliantly...
yeah cuntish trick question...I know I know...
but it works well..and makes sense.
W should be able to turn left on a red here, if no peds.

Err, isn't that just what Bozza's proposing?
-
• #1365
To my knowledge you can pass a red light legally when gestured through them by a police officer using the correct hand-signals.
Also, I have been led to believe that temporary traffic lights are not subject to the same laws as permanent traffic lights. Anyone care to substantiate / disprove?

But do you seriously think the law would be changed to allow 60mph past a school?
I know the government/law passers/law makers are not always right but I have never seen them that wrong!
And what if the benefit thief had a good moral reason for taking the benefit? -

I've been working towards that. It upsets people when their oh-so-very-important/never-before-heard arguments are merged..
