  • Good.

  • On my wife's 'electronic rhythm method' contraceptive device, a red light signifies 'do not proceed unless you wish to make a baby'. Could you imagine the state of the world if I'd ignored all those red lights for the past 17 years?

    Well, could you?

Although the one time I ignored it was deliberate, so what happened wasn't an accident. Pretty messy though. Hmmm.

  • What I'm saying is, if stopped by the rozzers for jumping a red, show them that you're wearing a condom, and everything will be alright.

  • The police condone fingering people.

Wooooooah. This is, manifestly, way too much information. You need to lock that shit down.

Take 10 laps of Swains and a couple of hail marys.

  • It's not that personal. In fact, it's Persona. This isn't the Victorian era, FFS.

Better than expecting your gal to load up on dodgy pills.

  • have we derailled the thread enough yet?

  • Creampie?

  • coconut cream pie... mmmmmm.

  • The police condone fingering people.

    quite so.

this is what happens if you get caught RLJ

  • that's more like it.

  • nnnnnnnnnnnnnnggg

[biting tongue cos I know it's probably bloody RPM or Object.]
I don't post with Alias logons.
I will insult you right to your face, if I deem you worthy.

  • I will insult you by any means necessary.

  • the police came to see me the other day to debrief after the court case, and they were talking about the attitude they get from some cyclists when they try stop them to talk to them - it really doesn't create much empathy.... they do understand that couriers are a). always in a rush and b). when they get a fine for RLJing it can be their whole day's wages, but they said they get so much abuse and all they want to do is talk to them.

tit for tat really. yes there are abusive cyclists and yes, there are very emphatic and tolerant coppers.

There are also many respectable, likeable emphatic cyclists as well as coppers who will not give you the time of day and want nothing more than to screw you as much as they can.

You can't paint everyone with the same brush.

  • i agree, hence the use of 'some' riders. yes, the police who dealt with my case were incredibly nice, but some aren't. but i also think that a few cyclists give the majority a bad name (which has been discussed here many times) and don't help the 'cause.'

  • If a courier blows their whole days wages jumping a red light, they should a) stop doing it, or b) get a proper fucking job.

  • Only joking!!

  • Im gonna go out and get a work van, go and do some blatant red light jumping in it.

  • Right Greys inn road and Clerkenwell road crossroads - be very careful they are everywhere in normal police gear not high vis. I was just given a £30 fine - lovely and a serious talking too all witnessed by Velocio who was riding by and stopped to watch - what a way to start the day!

  • Just don't RLJ?

  • Insightful.

  • Indeed

  • Yep

  • A red light is a red light - the law says stop, so you stop.

If you're an anarchistical (new word, go me!) type who wants to play by your own fucking rules don't moan when you get a £30fp

Maybe we should remove all traffic laws and then see how safe we are on the roads

    end rant
