Friday afternoon would be good, as then I can take it to my LBS to get it cut to length on Saturday.
Yay!
Dave
Hey Dave/ Edmundane, possible spanner in the works though not too serious. My mechanic friend reckons a jig would be even better for bending the forks than the monstrous Park Tools lever thing I was thinking of. The jig will, I believe, have gauges so I can get the steerer/ fork legs more precisely precisely aligned. Trouble is I'll have to wait til Sunday to use this as that's when she's working at the shop where the jig lives. If you're desperate I'll go ahead and do the job on thu, by eye, otherwise do you wanna wait to Sunday (i'll even cut them to size if you confirm the exact length of the steerer tube once more for me, with the headset race removed). P.S. on the off chance Dave, is your LBS London Fields Cycles? And just to clarify, the lilac I'm talking about is quite a light one, but it's definitely lilac.
Hmm. I'm happy to wait till Sunday. No real rush if you don't mind cutting it as well. I'll double check the length when I have got the head set race removed. Maybe tonight/ tomorrow. Then we could swop Sunday afternoon perhaps? Depends what time you get it done really. No hurry. I'm cool (makes "I'm cool" gesture with hands)
I don't go to London fields, but it isn't very far away from me.
check http://fcbs.org/images/colour_chart.jpg . My bike is probably closest to 44 or 45
ps the chrome forks have the old-school lugged top. Drilled for a brake and normal drop (just) fits

Colour should be good- provided my display isn't weird, I reckon 44's the closest match for the forks.
Edmundane, are you cool with Sunday pm?

Should be done by 2 or 3 I imagine. Up Mare Street way, but happy to saunter down to brick lane. Or Bethnal Green Tube as a halfway point? When's bike polo on? Do I need a mallet/ a modicum of competence? Might be able to improvise something for the first one, not so sure about the second...

31trum(murtle) you only need one
Where's the fun in that? :P

31trum(murtle) you only need one
have you got one then?..
Just asked for a pair as they're usually sold in pairs.. or so I thought :) If anyone's up for buying half a pair, I can buy the other half. heh.

• #269
anywhere round that area should be easy and quick on bike :) so alls good no?
bike polo is in a basketball court at the junction round brick lane and shacklewell street (rhoda street side). good if u have a mallet but there are normally more than enough mallets to hold a match so you probably wouldn't need to. some of us are just starting to play so dont worry about the skill :)

Awesome. Let's meet there on Sunday afternoon. Nat, if you text me when you're finished, that will let me know when to head down.

Bonza, looks like we're on. To finally make my mind up, I'll take the Maillard hub, if that's cool edmundane. I'll text Dave/Stonster and we'll come down to the polo court Sunday afternoon. Looking forward to it, and possibly catching a mallet in my spokes. Dave, is the steerer 170mm without the crown race?

Wanted: Lockring tool or pliers.
Don't need to be fancy, used/new, whatever. As long as they can put a hub lockring on and take one off.
Trading for.... MONEYS!
