My Enve fork doesn’t have rack mounts soz pal 😎

Although I’ve had to switch seatpost to fit the Carradice and now my saddle is further back and it’s fucked up my position, 20 minute ride this evening had my knee and shoulders feeling funny. Might switch back and use a frame bag instead of the Carradice
And I’m sticking with the 1x 42 ring but going to try and squeeze a 32t at the back under the red 22 mech. Have either a roadlink or Rival 22 mech as back ups

made a version of The Shark on RideWithGPS to include cues. Didn’t have any when I loaded the GPX file onto my Bolt. I’m sure others have done the same.

Have you managed to copy it exactly? 1.5km difference

Barring minor differences in distances at the controls I don’t think it’s far off. Will give it another eyeball though

This’ll be me tomorrow for the Shark (hopefully smaller saddle bag!). Reppin the forum with a jersey.

Giving my bike a once over this afternoon I discovered it needed new tyres, brake pads, cassette, FD tweaking, etc.

Not the early night I was hoping for then.

We had a great time hosting everyone yesterday, glad to hear the control in some part made up for the relentless hills!

There is no shame in packing this ride, it's one of the toughest, and it was a bit cold and wet yesterday too.

We had 138 start, and around 108 finishers.

It's fun being on the other side of an event and the riders were great yesterday nothing but good vibes and smiling faces all day. There were a surprising number of nutters doing it as the first Audax - including one lady who's friend had persuaded her to ride but not mentioned the hills!

It was a bit of a full on weekend for me, I did the 3down 300k fixed the day before, and didn't get back to London until 2:30am so my alarm at 6:30 to get up for The Shark was a killer well worth it though, glad to be back at work today for a rest!

Thanks to the ACH team for organising another good day out.

Highlights: riding with @cgg and @seager.

Lowlights: my crank falling off. At least it happened as we were pulling into Mayfield!

That stew was excellent!

But it delayed us enough so that the rain started as we were getting ready to go again; so we decided to spend a bit more time in the pub whilst it passed over instead.

Highlights were definitely @cgg and @inappropriate_bike dragging me round my final 40km, and of course a hiding Clement.

The lowlight was having to bail at Cowden - I was very glad that I reached my limit at the top of a hill, with the station at the bottom of that same hill.

I did this yesterday, too. I loved it, though it was bloody hard. Where did they find all those hills?

Thanks everso to the ACH team for making it happen. The control was great. I had soup, a PBJ sandwich and some cake too. Delicious! The second food stop was less glamorous - holed up in a bus shelter with a Londis sandwich and a packet of crisps.

It was my second audax (the first had a much higher beardy old goat quotient) and I'm definitely up for some more. Turns out I'm a masochist.
