I've a feeling I'm going to get an awful rash some time in 2012.

I'm going to join AudaxUK, too. Haven't yet done my first century and intend to do so next year (let's face it, I've eaten far too many mince pies to be capable of it in what remains of 2011). I will work on my beard forthwith.

  • Bloody would-be Audaxers, you'll probably end up riding in the same way as you're making 'lists', all on your own. :)

  • Do you have to join audax uk to ride there events?

Would be interested in doing my first 200 mile ride, and nice for it to have organised food stops. but i doubt i would come along on many of these.

Joined up. Definitely doing some Audax rides, fancy that Oxford 300.
Doing the Etape Act 2 also. Oh dear.

Nope, you can pay a nominal surcharge to the entrance fee to cover temporary membership

  • And the nominal surcharge is only 2 quid a ride which is a bargain, really.

I'm now an official member! I even get a membership card. V excited!

Going to sign up myself actually. Hopefully see some of you about next year, ill be wearing a fake beard.

    british kendo association?

  • you already know what it is

  • Was wishing I was on the Watership Down 100 today, did anyone here do it? Think the lack of frost would have made it nicer than last year. I don't think I'd make Coombe Gibbet in my current 'fit'ness.

  • Thinking of joining Audax UK. But there aren't many events really in my neck of the woods (Norfolk) Do you guys travel much for the events?

  • @spencey
I've managed an hour's train + 1/2 hour ride to start, or thereabouts. Bit of an early start.

Maybe you could start a Brevet yourself if there's a lack in Norfolk?! Some great cycling country particularly south Norfolk / mid suffolk.

Anybody fancy this? Nice scenic 100k and (allegedly) the best food... I have to check with stmbo...

  • What's the flatest, least-junctioned 100k audax - fancy doing one by penny farthing for some fixed-wheel points :)

Is the 2012 booklet out yet? Not seen mine...

  • Haven't seen it either but it's all in the online calendar, which reads a lot better these days.

Going to notch up the North-West Passage from Rochdale in a couple of weeks. This will be #3 in my new RRtY campaign.

  • Still haven't signed up with the organisation. With all the time I've wasted in the meantime I could have ridden the card.

  • You must sign! Then do the National 400 in June. It is possible..

  • Ha, I really will. Soon.

  • bump for the worthing winter warmer...^^^

  • I might be in skulls

  • Skully/smiff, I've already lined up the Winter Warmer as my first Audax of the year. Woo!

Spybot is up for it too. 6.32 train from Victoria to Billingshurst will do the business.

If you're in smiff we can groupsave and go for £10.50 each return instead of £21.

  • That sounds like good fun. Bloody miles from me though so not a chance.
