That would be amazing if it were true but alias I don't know, it's 10km less than actual possibly due to the short cut.

• #2453
I've done in 8 sections if anyone wants those.

Probably forget to delete one point that add an extra 20km.
Finish my route, happy with it, bring it on.

Just noticed that after Knighton you are taking the official route to Weobley. Despite being shorter, these lanes are really grim riding. Very potholey, gravely and often very muddy making them quite slow going. You'll be better off pressing on a Brampton Bryan and taking the A roads south to Weobley from there. Quite a few other riders will be doing the same. It adds about 1km but has a fraction less climbing and will definitely be quicker and take less effort.

You mean the A4110 after Brampton Bryan passing Wigmore? thank for the information, I usually don't mind potholes and gravel since my bike are capable of it, but state of mind at that time may not agree.
Is this better?
-
• #2463
Yeah, that'll do it.
It's customary to pause in Knighton for a short break after doing the col d' Dolfor so it should be easy to pick up a group there and make short time to Weobley.

Cheer, getting very excited now!
-
• #2465
I'm getting scared. Will I be able to do this?
-
• #2466
Yes.
-
• #2467
The good thing is that you split the route in 8 different part, make the task look less daunting.
You'll be fine, actually more than fine if you pace yourself carefully.

Looks like a good weekend for the BCM, pretty much set on doing it next year. Hoping to see plenty of photos and some good write-ups next week...
Heading into Wales on Sunday on the World's End 200, heard a good things about the catering and excited to ride with clearer skies after scouting out a few roads earlier in the month. Added bonus of riding to my parent's house tomorrow as they're closer to the start and riding back afterwards on Sunday with bags full of veg off the allotment!

Probably as good as anything in the Alps from my limited experience. Elan Valley, Peny y Pass and the descent into the first control absolute highlights. As was every Welsh driver.
Bailed at Dolleglau and rode to take a train at Machynlleth. Left knee had me at 8mph from Menai Bridge. 436km in a day with brilliant lunch and coffee breaks. -

^Good work Ludwig. Sorry to hear about the knee problems :/
I am very jealous of all those doing it. Such a beautiful ride, and with this weather would have been incredible. Thank God I've got exams this week, fun successfully averted!
Look forward to the pics*/write ups
(And TSK as soon as these exams are over I'll drop the Brooks Swift back off to you!)
*I expect some quality ones from you ed

Sorry to hear that Ludwig, although if it's any consolation you probably got the most beautiful half. Elan Valley is one of my favourite roads to ride, anywhere in the world.
Does the BC turn west at the top of the valley and head to Aberystwyth? Absolutely stunning views from there.

Thank you Dan I could not agree more with you. Wales is what was unknown to me before yesterday sublime. Allegedly I only really missed a descent into Kipton? No you hit the coast at Barmouth before turning inland for The Pen Y Pass. After the Elan valley headed North to Doleglau via Machynlleth and Cadair Idris.

Not to forget the eerie hum of what I now know is Trawsfynydd nuclear power station in the early hours.
-
• #2474
Tough ride that one. Saw Scobles and Ludwig out and about.

^I think we all know the real explanation Ludwig ;)
Must be for 650c wheels?
