Gently Bentley coming up, who's ready? I know I'm not...

Yeah the traffic in the New Forest really sucks.
Kennet Valley looks good actually - not touched a lot of the stuff below Newbury. Just getting West out of London that's a pain, though I'd potentially just get an early train to Guildford or something to avoid it.

If you fancy a few hills, I did the Chiltern Cycleway as a 400 DIY. But the top bit is pretty shit, so just cut it down:

That looks tasty, I take it the minor off-road bits are nothing too technical for 28mms?
-
• #11232
I did it on 25mm road tyres and it was all fine, if a bit slow. There was a bit of wet chalk across a field in the northern section where I got off and walked for a few hundred yards.

Really wanted to do that one for our RRTY this year, it goes through the town my gf grew up in midway through the ride and near where her rents still live. Alas, it was full pretty quickly and we missed it :(
Heading to Bristol instead to do the Butt Buster next weekend.

@amey @leggy_blonde are you guys doing it fixed like I presume @youramericanlover will be?
I'm signed up, will be my first 200 so need all the gears if I'm to stand a chance of making it! -
• #11238
It will be my longest distance ever too, I'll be on gears. My fixies stay sweet by sticking to the track!
-
• #11239
Grand! I'm bricking it a little less now :)

At least the only stairs you need to run up during these things are normally only at the train station.
-
• #11241
I kinda want to but I have recently built up a new bike .. lets see
-
• #11242
Is there a badge for riding down the other side?
-
• #11243
There's more likely to be jobsworth handing you a fine.
-
• #11244
If there's a little crew riding I could be tempted along
Anyone getting a train out from central? -
• #11245
I thought about it but I've been burnt one too many times by trains on Sundays. Will be taking the soft option and driving.

My work on this forum is now complete.
@PhilDAS I think there may be a train contingent but not sure. Would be nice to roll with you though!

I do too!
3Down is a pretty good one from what I remember. Though angry New Forest drivers are the worst.
You could probably ECE Kennet Valley Run quite easily https://audax.uk/event-details?eventId=7359 -if you could find a nice route to the start and back home then it'd probably add up to 300km.
