Audax Cycling and Balloons.
Keep seeing these stickers out in the Peak District, anyone know what it's about?
-
• #10528
Plot spoiler: there will be another event in the calendar for the same day soon.

Audax Cycling and Balloons.
Presumably a play on the normal meaning of the acronym ACAB.

People doing RRTY, are you going to restart in April?
-
• #10532
As soon as DIYs are able to be validated again, yes, I reckon - though I imagine there's the same 'grace period' we saw when everything resumed again last year.
Noticed a new ACH 200km from Cutty Sark in July, for those in London . The Isle of Sheppey sort of gives me the heebie jeebies, but looks good

This was the info I found about the resumption of RRTY. I happen to have the last few days of March off so might try to squeeze a DIY in then to get it started up from March.

I did a route check of this in the summer, it will be a good edition to the London calendar. Worth it just to see Sheppey which is stuck in the 70's, get's a bit lumpy on the way back.

Yeah I reckon I've ridden a very similar route solo a few times, but sounds like a fun one to hopefully do alongside a few other riders!

I am in if i can get a place!

The Shark is now back in the calendar for 11th April: https://audax.uk/event-details?eventId=8470, thanks to @mustardbeak for stepping up and being the Covid Safety Officer so it can have more than 30 entries.

Entered - thanks!

Looks interesting - Bristol Glasgow Bristol. Nice scenic route with a few bumps: https://www.pedalution.co.uk/events/big-gert-brevet-1600/

24,000m of climbing in 1600km!
-
• #10542
Yes, does look interesting.
Almost as hilly as two volcano sprint! -
• #10543
That's the same climbing as Transpyrenees had in 900ish km but most of it will be short, sharp nasty shit with sketchy, unmaintained roads so you don't even get to properly enjoying the descents. Sounds like fun. :)

• #10544
184 hours? That’s more than a week! That can’t be right.

• #10545
our definitions of interesting are different :D

"Also the event validation will likely be a Brevet Populaire for a more ‘relaxed’ experience (10 days) and either a BR or RM."
-
• #10547
Well, yeah, you won't get the AUK points unless it's a BR or RM.
BR or RM would be 133h20 for a nominal 1600km.

Entered, hope it goes ahead this year!
Most events are being limited to 30 entries unless additional measures are being put in place through the Risk Assessment and the organiser appoints a designated Covid Officer.
