that's a horrible setup
NO !
look how Froom setup his brifters.

You did refer to my olmo, right? Maybe I'm confusing something. I guess it all comes down to the personal preference we already debated with tester in the lopro thread. Some like a little wrist support and a level top part some like it pointing upwards :)
http://www.bicycling.com/bikes-gear/tour-de-france/the-totally-awesome-road-bikes-of-the-2016-tour-de-france/slide/16i'd say most of them have the hoods even, quite a few pointing slightly upwards and some pointing downwards. But I'm sure the brifter set-up was the main reason froome won the tour ;)

My bad !
I got you confused with Jaap sorry Sig_Arlecchino
Just wanted to know why did Jaap say that, if it's personal preference?
sorry man ! -
• #97959
Well that explains a lot! I was really anal about the Olmo and was kind of shocked that you considered the shifter setup horrible after I put so much effort into making it look spot on... You have a very good taste in bikes so I was kind of disappointed :D

Well of course it's personal preference but:
- short stem
- weird bar angle
- ugly seatpost
- 53/39 with 11-32 cassette (just get a compact, you're not using the 53x11)
- Mountainbike pedals
- the list goes on and on...
- short stem

Hawt! What exactly is the purpose of the bar end shifter?

Looks like some sort of drum brake
-
• #97964
drum brake
Which makes the radial lacing a bit of a faux pas
-
• #97965
No idea, but can it be connected to the drum brake? I can't see any brake lever.

Photos by my friend who is talking to the builder right now. I'm guessing it's at Circus Manufaktur in London. Asked some questions, I'll let you know if I learn anything.

Apparently a Mike Burrows bike.
One of the early prototype frames for Lotus bikes. -

Compact and Morati cranks doesn't work :)
-
• #97970
Why's that?
-
• #97971
Why's that?
Because the ones with the flat plate spider are nowhere near as cool as the ones with the welded tube spider :)
This is the nice version of the 110mm PCD Morati:

Yep, Frog MTB pedals. Slimmer than many road pedals.
The biggest ring on the cassette is 34 btw. With the 39 chainring that's a 1.15 relation and similar to Campy's 34/29 compact setup. Looking at the mountains in the background that makes sense. And yes, there's a 110mm Morati MTB version with the same cool look, but...

What does campy have to do with it?
Why is that?
